So, I hadn't seen much on the REO threads about atties other than the 4-5 common ones. Decided to try drilling out my Phoenix Bully. Worked GREAT! I wasn't about to risk destroying my one precious RM2 on drilling out the cap for sub1/2Ω coils. Also working great are: the REO @ 0.5Ω, and my MNKE IMR 18650 batteries. (They are rated at 20 Amp max. continuous discharge and run cool as a cucumber @ .4-.5Ω)

Also, today, I ordered the IGO-S rda, hoping it would be drillable for Gooseboxin'. "Thrazier" put up a video when I inquired about that, and it looks like an easy drill. The IGO-S is 14.5mm OD, so it should just squeak into the REO Grand. (I'll let you all know if it works.) {Be happy to do a little drilling for others, if anyone's interested. Not a bajillion, but a few.}

Nice work pdib I modded a few of these myself . I took it a step further and milled the side walls down and the posts . My dad is still running one of them he loves that atomizer . I tried to get him to switch to a reomizer 2.0 he wasn't having it .

Same atomizer with side walls milled down

i don't usually do 'spot the difference' competitions!

Beats me - but why not wrap 2 wires on the same wick - that's what i do for dual coils and it saves time and drilling out airholes on the other side of the atty. Works great and my thanks to Commie for pointing out the feasibility of it.

Next: what is the biggest fattest battery i can possibly fit in a Reo, since i am killing mine at under 1 Ohm?

Oh, it's a single coil, my good man. (26g) I just drilled out the backside for fun. I had modded this atty to have a swinging pos. post, and "backside drillin sounded like a good idea at the time" :ohmy:

What do you mean Killing? What batt are you using?

And who's the dame?

And what's her #? . . . . . . hey, wait a minute . . .. . is that a boy? :blink:

Thanks, Rob! I was thinking about that side reduction therapy, but, to be honest, I was afraid i'd end up making mince-meat out of the thing. I justified my lack of courage with the idea that "the air holes up there ↑ anyway".

Her name is Mari Wilson, was a singer in an 80s group! I use efest 2000 mAh IMRs and they last maybe an hour or two. I have suddenly developed a very keen interest in batteries. I cannot beat the vape from the sub ohm coils, and everything i have read suggests the batteries last maybe 2 hours - but that's if you fire them the entire time.

I am getting nothing like that, although i do vape nonstop all day and evening.

How old are your Efests? I heard they did a big surge in quality recently to try and compete with AW. Before that, not so much. I'm using the MNKEs that are 1300 to 1500mAh depending on who's selling them. I bought them because of reviews like these . . . .. MNKE IMR18650 3.7v Li-MN Rechargable Battery - Avid Vaper. I keep seeing charts where they don't do so well; but I find them to be great! They outperform and outlast my AW2000. If I were to buy batteries today; I'd get them again (or do more research on the AW1600s). If I were vaping constantly like I do for the 1/2hr wake-up coffee vape, I would guess they would last me . . . . . . . .hmmm 4 hours? As it is, they last me about 12 hrs. Another thing about them is that they don't sag. It seems like they give it up pretty consistently for 12 hrs of on&off vaping, and then, poom, they're done. My AW sinks slowly the whole time.

My suspicion is that any good name battery with fewer mAhs packed into it than the size could hold, and a continuous discharge rating of 20A+ is gonna be good. (I'm sticking with IMR for now)

Not those ↑↑ charts, the other charts. Ratman, that is a nice resource! Too bad they don't have the MNKE on there. I really want to see a comparison of them and the AW1600s (I'm betting they'll be neck and neck). The AW 1600 vs 2000 graph looks exactly like I feel with my MNKE vs AW2000 experience. The AW1600 vs Orbitronics 2900 is a laugh!
