Drilling-out air holes on IGO-W4

I have a .5 ohm dual nano dragon coil setup (12 wraps of 28 gauge kanthal around sewing needle x2), in my IGO with the stock air holes @ .8mm. I'm mostly satisfied with the vape but, I feel like I'm getting an acrid/burnt taste more often than I'd like. I'm thinking it might be poor airflow so I'm considering drilling it out to 1/16".The thing is, I do prefer a tighter draw and use quick ~1 second mouth-to-lung inhales, so I don't want to end up with it being too airy. I'm happy with the draw as is but I'm wondering if drilling it out will improve the performance overall. It's my daily setup and my only mech/rda, so I don't want to ruin it, and as is, I still like it way better than my EVOD VV and PT2 Mini setup... Any input/advice/suggestions would be really helpful.

I had the same prob at 1 point!
& yes the problem is airflow.
I went ahead & drilled out 3mm airhole on my igo-w & I regretted it!!! Was way 2 airy. So I found a quick fix!!! I took a gromit from an old protank head & trimmed the lenth

Then I popped it in my igo & job done

I was happy with it wasn't 2 airy.
BUT!!!!! not long after that I got used 2 the lung inhale, so much so I had 2 take the gromit back out & relief I had air lol it's funny how quick u get used 2 the big airhole & better airflow. & the performance is much better with more air.

Haha, that's a pretty sweet little hack. How big is the air hole with the grommet in there?

1/16" is 1.5mm so if I drill mine out at that size it'll have the same draw as the single 3mm... If that was too airy on your setup maybe I'll try 1mm first.

I can't go too big because I don't see myself switching to the lung inhale... All my juices are pretty high nic so it would be really intense if I did. And the only thing I lung inhale is ........-- and hookah too, I guess, but I haven't smoked that in a long time. I dunno, it just feels weird to do it with a vape.

It's about a 2mm airhole with the gromit in! Or just under.
If ur gonna drill I'd say ur idea of 1mm wld b a start. better bein 2 small than 2 big!!! (Or is that the other way about) lmao sorry. Anyways yeah u cld always make it bigger if 1mm wasn't enough.
Tip tho yeah! If ur gonna sub ohm u NEED the airflow that's the secret 2 it all! Amongst other things of coarse but air is a BIG factor 4 vapin the kinda ohms u stated.
