I was too lazy to put a new wick into my A7, so I used a Boge carto. Looks funny and is noisy.

Then a though came to me -- how about some drip shields? Unfortunately I don't have any, but I started wondering -- would they do anything nice functionally on a Reo besides looking purty?

Would they seal somewhat to the bottom and act as a kind of "tank" that you can spill into? Would they adjust airflow of a carto?

And would any of you happen to have a picture of what it would look like on a Grand?

Thank you!
Commie

For one thing, I think you would need to have XL cartos/attys for it to fit. I could be wrong. I think they're cool looking, but I don't think they serve any purpose on a REO. I could be wrong there, too. I think they were made (or became popular) for 901 attys that had the air hole in the side (instead of down by the threads) and they actually did catch drips. Since then people have used them for other attys (510s) to look cool. I've seen pics of REOs with drip shields, but I can't remember who posted them. Hopefully, someone who has some will hop on. Sorry to be very little help. :)

Jan is spot on here. I bought a couple before I discovered Reos. Planned on using them with a Buzz and some 510 attys. Also had to buy some 510to510 adapters. At the time they were hard to get. I wanted black w/ silver rings but settled for gold w/ silver rings.

After receiving them they looked like more trouble than they were worth and I never used them. Looked in my junk box and I still have them. Want to trade for something, LOL...

I've never used a "drip shield." I have a bunch of different drip tips I used to put in my shopping cart as a habit when I was buying something else, but I've never found one that works as well as the black delrin? tip that came stock on the "reomizer" (although I have a silver "ming" drip tip that looks cool on my tumbled aluminum grand.)
