Okay, so I'm pretty new to vaping, but I've had a few different tanks and batteries (just to try everything of course!), and I was came across something I don't quite understand; the difference between drip tips and mouth pieces.

So, as I understood it for a while, a drip tip was the same thing as a mouth piece on tanks, although some couldn't be replaced.

Just for a reference so it'll be easier to answer my question, I've had an Aspire BDC, a Kanger T3S, and a Kanger Protank 2.

The Aspire and the Protank 2 both have replaceable drip tips, compatible with 510 drip tips, while the T3S had a non-replaceable mouth piece.

I was looking up drip tips, and found they are used for dripping into cartridges, which are for e-cigarettes that look like cigarettes, and not PVs.

So, what is the difference? is a drip tip on a PV tank like the Protank 2 just a mouth piece, or is it used for dripping?

Any answers are appreciated! Thanks!

Drip tips have become the same as mouthpieces over the years. Originally they were used with a standard pre-built, pre-coiled non-rebuildable atomizer to drip liquid directly onto the coil. This was at a time where tanks, clearos and such didn't exsist and cartomizers in general were new and not perfected in any way. Dripping directly on the coil gave better vapor and flavor (many still feel it's the best way) eliminating the need to use a cartrige to feed the juice. A drip tip was user to be able to drip through the center hole without removing it, for ease of use.

I wrote this,
