not sure if there has already been a post about this, but i could not find it, so ill ask .....

what exactly is the drip tip and how do you use it? im about to dabble in the e-liquid and just purchased a bottle from V4L along with a drip tip, assuming they work together. ive tried liquid in the past with no success but really dont see why i should have ot depend on the pre filled carts when i need them. Figure htis will be good to have on hand in case there are shipping issues.

thanks in advance for responding.

The drip tip can be used in a couple of ways. You can pop out the little rubber insert with the hole from your carto (using a paper clip or whatever) and put on the drip tip. That way, whenever you want to refresh your carto with some more juice, you just pop off the drip tip, add the juice and pop it right back on - for convenience. The other way I use it is for when I use a 901 atomizer (which fits a KR808D-1 battery, V4L's included) and drip directly onto it to test juice flavors. You need the drip tip for this so your mouth isn't directly on the atomizer, as it gets hot.

Plus, I just like the way the drip tip looks!

I've actually been wondering about this myself lately. I'd like to see some more info from drip tip users. I thought I'd heard that you can drip directly into it to refill? What are the other positives?

I would only do this with a manual battery if the carto is still attached. Otherwise you risk shorting out your battery. The manual battery has no center hole. The auto does, and juice can get down in there if you're not careful.

I do NOT recommend using the drip tip to drip liquid down into the carto... it will go straight down the center tube and leak out the bottom...

It is just much easier to pull out the drip tip and fill than to have to pry out the white mouthpiece. The wider hole in the drip tip allows more vapor up through into your mouth, and the contoured piece is a much nicer mouthpiece than the straight edge of the carto. Also keeps your lips off the carto if you tend to vape it till it's hot.

But, again, DO NOT drip liquid directly down into the cart using the drip tip.

Glad to see this post about drip tips. I was wondering that as well.

If I may expand on this a little...can someone please also explain exactly which batts are what? KR808D-1 etc?? I have the XL Auto and I have absolutely no clue what model that is. Much less any of the others at V4L that I am looking at to purchase. I want to get more auto's, but also manuals.

Well I'm new here too, only about 3 weeks. Snow Dragon seems like he's pretty well versed in the refilling techniques and can show you how it's done with some links to videos. I use the liquid and really it tastes much better to me than the pre-filled. I won't get blanks and start from scratch though. All I do is use a cartomizer for like a day or so, when it gets to not much vapor production, I will drip directly into the batting from the bottle. You just hold the carto at like a 70 degree angle with the bottle and try to drip it on the inside of the carto so it runs down the side there into the batting. Some of the folks here will also recommend that you use the "taryn spin" which may indeed work well, but it seems like a big production to me. If you just drip a few drops into the batting and let it sit over night you should be fine.

The drip tip itself to me is just like...and faster way of replacing the little white piece. It's not really necessary to have one in order to refill. You can just use the little white pieces and put them back on.

One word of caution. It takes some practice and if you over fill you will wind up with some juice in your mouth which is quite nasty. After a few days, I was able to get this procedure down pretty well. I also will use the syringe method sometimes on my wife's cartos which arent v4l brand. She's buying a new kit from them as soon as the next sale comes out.

+1 to the replies...

Pulling together a video on another item today and have included a lil somethun somethun about Drip Tips as well.

The moniker of Drip Tip is somewhat of a misnomer when it come to KR batteries. The original Drip Tips used with 3 piece atty PVs were meant for direct dripping. These are simply Tips which are used for the following:

Better Draw: the hole is larger than the rubber mouth cap insert
Comfort: The contour design provides a more comforatable feel
Ease of Use: Rather than digging out the rubber cap, a DT is easy to pull off the Cartomizer
Lip Protection: LR Cartos get pretty hot, especially on a Mod or PT, this keeps your lips protected
Carto I.D.: When using different Flavors you can I.D. them by what color DT you are using
Aesthetics: They look :2cool: hehehe

Hope this helps.....

Thanks for all the replies. I guess that was my question - if it dripped down the sides somehow to make filling easier, or just down the middle of the cart. I may try one just for the hell of it.

As for this -

I use the liquid and really it tastes much better to me than the pre-filled. I won't get blanks and start from scratch though.

I would say try it from scratch if you haven't! I find that for some reason the taste (which is of course subjective) of the blanks is much better than the taste of prefilled. I only buy prefilled now to try a new flavor rather than buying a whole bottle.

I did try to load up a few blank cartos I bought from another vendor. I had no luck there and really I think I had flooded the thing. As long as you keep them wet though, they seem to be able to go on for days with just a few drops added here and there. I will have like 2 batteries lined up one with a tobacco flavor and the other with a fruity juice or minty one. I will vape those two for most of a day. When I get home from work I'll load them with some juice and take the other ones that have been sitting and just rotate it out.

If all you are buying is the pre-filled and tossing them, you are wasting a lot of money in my opinion. I will maybe order a few blanks from v4l next time and try to perfect the syringe method. I think I put too much in there last time and just getting the juice from the bottle into the syringe was quite a chore on its own. Direct from the bottle seems most efficient with very little if any waste at all. The only down side if you'll have to wait a few hours and you have to kind of get a feel for how much is enough without it being too much.

Oh and to the person who asked "how many drops". I would get away from that line of thinking. You need to go by what the batting looks like. It should be sorta slushy but not with standing juice in it. A "drop" is too vague a measurement as my drops might be twice as big or twice as small as others. Good luck.

No worries rkayw...."hijack" is such an ugly word and we welcome all questions here. I'm going to send you a pm about the V4L batteries...vaping can be overwhelming at first, there is a lot to learn, and a lot of bad info floating around.

Thanks Snow! I appreciate you taking the time to do that for me. :)
