Dripping it. I'm not getting it??

So, I have been enjoying my Itaste VTR for a few weeks now. I decided to have a go at the rda that was sitting on the shelf.
So I got it set up with dual coils. Drilled the holes out each side to 1mm (it's the igo w) so I have reasonable airflow.

I have dripped a few different flavours that I have used in the evod/mini pro tank 2/iclear 30s and they don't taste as good and just seem to hit my chest too much. I have tried varying the wattages and yes that does change the tastes and the throat hit but in reality I have enjoyed using the clearomisers a lot more than the dripper.

Anyone else had a similar experience?

Get a mechanical mod. That will fix your flavor issue.

I find I can't hit my dual coil dripper on my mech with nothing over 6 nic or it's kills the throat/chest. Try a lower nic when you dripping. If your doing 12 cut it in half with straight vg from the drug store.

Maybe that's my problem, I was trying drip using 24. It was killing me.

I am on the learning curve now with a mechanical mod and dripping with an igo-w4. I am now enjoying vaping bliss after two changes. First, after using 18 mg nicotine with tank set ups and the like, stepping down to 12mg was the first thing. Second, positioning your coil is critical. Don't position your coil too close to the posts, but out a bit so it can catch the airflow and make more vapor. A slight bend up may also be necessary to get in "line of sight" of the air hole. It takes some learning and tweaking, but man it is so worth the effort!

All you're doing is making it twice as hard to learn how.

I didn't think I had to use dual coils. The dripper I have had the ability to set it up as dual coil so I did.

I have 2 setups, one RDA with 29 g, dual micros and vape no more than 3 mg,30/70, the other is a Genny with dual 30g micros at 9mg,50/50 and both are on mech's. It took a while to get it right. The lower amount of nic on the RDA satisfies me just as much as the higher in the Genny.

There is a learning curve to dripping, so what you're experiencing really doesn't surprise me. Don't be shocked if you find that your juices need LESS flavoring when you figure it all out.

The next thing is not to go too low in ohms at first and use cotton wicks the right way. Not choking the coils with too much cotton (if you do use cotton). You may need to lower the nic level as I did as well. The juices pg/vg ratio plays a big part also. You may need to change that around a bit. Good luck and vape on!

Today I had another go. I mixed up a test pot of cool mint.
I changed my ratio to 80/20 pg/vg and halved my nicotine down to 6mg.
Drawing mouth to lung as I normally do was ok.
Drawing straight to the lung really changed the flavour and I have been enjoying the drip.
Obviously I need to fiddle with the flavour to get what I want but I didnt get a bad vape at all

All I know is, too little juice = hot metal. Too much juice = gurgle gurgle. Somewhere in the middle of that, I *might* get 2-3 decent hits.

How does a RDA gurgle? I'm confused as to what you're doing to cause a RDA to gurgle.

The hot metal (dry hit) is easily overcome by keeping your wick wet. Also, after re-dripping wait a minute or two to give your wick time to wick the juice properly.

I saturate my wicks and I'm good to go for 10-15 fat hits, clouds big enough to make a thunder storm jealous..

I wouldn't call myself a "dripper". I want to try things so that I know how to do them, even a little if someone were to ask me but I have my own habits. When I started vaping, like many things........I said I would never buy that but I actually enjoy my dripper at home.

I built a single coil and didn't drill out the air holes and someone suggested the things above.....drill out air holes, make a dual coil about 1.5ohms, position them in front of the air hole and use the right amount of cotton and it was a night and day difference. The whole process is still a bit of a PITA for me but the flavor is nice and I do drip at least once a week.

There ya go bro! Yeah I had to lowered my nic level to 6mg also and as others have stated, that makes a big difference. Still a good throat hit if that's what you're after. 70/30 pg/vg is my standard on most juices altho I do have some fruity ones that are 50/50.

That is the key. I prefer the Trident V2 with adjustable air flow. I think the largest holes are around 2mm or very close to that anyway. Perfect imho.
My coils are 2mm at 1.0 ohms together. 12 wraps 28ga. Kanthal.

You still need to learn about hot spots, wicking issues, coil placement, air hole size and placement. The list just goes on and on. With a dual coil build you have twice the number of issues to get right before the build can perform properly. Hell, when I started using RDA's I didn't really understand what a hot spot was, or what caused it. But man ... did they ever make for a bad vape!

It's all about the build, style of rba/rda, watts vaped at, and hole bunch of other chit! Personally I prefer tanks, solid, stainless steel tanks. I want my tanks to be, well, built like a tank. lol. I find dipping to be a pita, and the cats get in the way. Three of my tanks are dripper tanks, can be used as a dripper or with juice on board. Nice for when breaking in a wick/build and testing things, and maxing out the watts, be I choose tanks. Haven't met an rda that could out preform or out taste my rba tanks.

I lmfao last night at myself making a rookie mistake. I had been changing my cotton out and juiced my coiled up,(got some on my fingers from overfill). Was in a hurry and quickly changed the battery out on my Caravela and.....nothing? She wouldn't fire at all. Took me a bit but I figured it had to be because I had readjusted the contact pin,(it tends to back off some) and hadn't wiped my hands clean of juice. Just a quick clean of the battery and pins and I was set, she fired right up That's the sort of thing we should all keep in the back of my minds.

I have been vaping for almost 3yrs and just now got into rebuildables.. I have been an avid 24mg user since day one.. when i first built my Igo w it was setup dual coil running about .8... the head rush i got from it that sent me spinning. It was like I just hit a marlboro red first thing in the morning...I have now went down to 12mg and seem to be fine...

I just recently got into dripping and tank mods. Moved on from a mini protank to an Igo-W with an evod Twist. Used the same battery with a kayfun, a patriot, helios... recently got an Innokin Coolfire II. want to upgrade from that due to miserable battery life.
