Cartos and attys are not the same thing

An atomizer is used with a cartridge aka cart, or on fairly well sealed manual batteries an atomizer can be used with a drip tip

A cartomizer aka carto does not use an atomizer. It is a combined 1 piece disposable cart with internal atty.

I don't drip in a drip tip on 808 cartos. The 808 cartos I use all have a defined center air channel. The juice would aim for that. I remove the drip tip (which I use only as a mouthpiece) to add juice.

if you want to test juices on a manual 808 battery, use a DSE901 standard resistance atomizer and a drip tip (no adapter needed)

I only use cartomizers with my favorite juices. I keep a carto damp with the same or similar juice until the carto doesn't work well any more then I start a new carto. I can usually get 1 week of use out of my main cartos, longer out of the ones I vape rarely. I am usually alternating two cartos with contrasting flavors. And a have a small number of other cartos with flavors I don't vape as much.

Okay, I am really confused then. I had thought I could just take the filler out and drip onto the atomizer. It sounds like with an 808 I am basically just using the drip tip to avoid having to pop the end off the cartomizer to refill it?

Would it work any better to get an adapter so I could use a 510 atomizer with my 808 batteries, or is there no real advantage to that?

I am a total newb, but all I do with my volt(same as an 808?), is pop off the little end cap and drip my juice in. I have been mixing flavors(that I thought would be compatible). For example, my volt came with watermelon cartos. when it was "empty", I added cinnamon juice. This was not quite what I wanted so I have been dripping in some vanilla as I make "room" by vaping

my other watermelon carto was not empty, but I wanted to try some new flavors, so I added some orange. Don't care for that one so I am adding vanilla

just be careful not to overfill- expecially if you have automatic batteries

I do not think a 510 is compatible with an 808, but reply on an experts answer to that, not mine

You mean you removed the stuffing from a carto and are using it as an atomizer? Yeah you can do that. I don't. And I would not recommend it on auto batteries. but sure - you can use a stuffing-less carto as as atomizer for dripping with a drip tip. You can do whatever you want actually. You can use a drip tip and drip into a cartomizer that has stuffing. But the cartomizers I use all have a defined central air channel (Vapor4Life cartos and Smokeless Image cartos on 808, and Boge cartos on 510). So I do not drip into the drip tip on a cartomizer and I leave the stuffing in - if I dripped into the tip it would aim the liquid right at the open center air channel of my cartos and go right down to the battery. I use the same drip tip to drip into an actual atomizer on manual batteries.

510 is not compatible with 808 without an adapter. They are not even the same sex.

righty what i think you mean is a cart, not a carto a cart is the end that plugs into an atomiser and a carto is an atomiserand cart combined. i would just rinse your cart and dry the inside with a cotton bud to remove any of the lasting juice but you can drip onto the atomiser with a different juice the only problem is that the flavours combine for a while with some juices but things like menthol are a pain to dilute down it takes me ages so instead what i do is i clean the atomiser using cheap 100% grain vodka. i dont use this to so called extend the life of the atty but it will remove any old flavours. hope this helps you out nlites.

I haven't done that yet, no, I was just thinking that I could. Some of my cartomizers are from V4L - I took one apart to see what you were talking about and see now how dripping won't work with those. Oh well.

I use a Tornado which is just a brand name for an EGO. Has the 510 and I use a SS drip tip from Super T. Started vaping almost a year ago and went from using fillers to dripping about 9 months ago. I'll never go back, much cleaner taste and the only time that having to add fluid every 15 minutes or so is an issue is on a long drive. Problem solved by loading up several of the complete set-ups which will usually last me 1-1/2 hours by which time I'm ready for a break anyway.

I do use de-bridged attys which seem to have a better taste. Also, I routinely use two different flavors and mix them to taste and nicotine strength. How found what suits me well and have no intention to keep trying the latest gadgets.
