Like many others, I overpaid for my first PV. I've got a pair of manual batteries (branded KR808, I think) and about 20 cartomizers from v2cigs dot com. I started vaping on Monday, and I've already ordered 25ml of e-juice from FSUSA.

My plan is to pop open my spent cartomizers and refill them a few times; but I've occassionally seen people here refer to "dripping." What is it? I've done a few searches and I *think* it's a special tip/cap that replaces cartridges in 3-part PVs.

Why should I be interested in this? Pros/cons?

Thanks!

You should be interested because from a purely flavor aspect, dripping is best.

It's not a thing, it's a technique. You need an atty instead of a carto, and you just drip (hence the name) 3 drops or so directly onto the coil.

There is a thing called a drip tip—helpful, not required—and it's just a mouthpiece with a hole in it, into which juice can drop through to the atty coil.

You can find lots of detailed descriptions, if you peck around. But here's a snapshot response:

1. Don't know much about your cartomizers, but pretty sure you can refill. WIth mine (510 varieties), I use the condom-cap method. I fill the rubber end-cap about half way, less if I'm refilling, and slide the battery-end of my carto into it, slowly. The filler material in the cartomizer then soaks the juice up. Alternatively, you can open the top, and drip some juice on the filler material.
2. Dripping is simply dropping a few drops of juice, directly on the atomizer. I usually do about 3-4 drops at a time, but a dry atomizer may need a couple extra drops, to get started. The taste is pretty smooth, and it lets you alternate between varieties (eg. I just added a few drops of coffee-flaborder juice, and will probably switch to banana).
3. The drip tip is just a tip for you to put your mouth on. It's softer/cooler on the lips, and gives you another inch or so distance, from your hot atomizer.
4. As the poster above said, you will need an atomizer and tip, to do this. You're cartomizers won't work, as they're designed to work with the filler they have in them. So yes, it's essentially like a 3 piece, except you substitute the drip tip, for the cartridge.

A drip tip is simply a tip with an open end that allows you to "drip" drops of juice into the mouthpiece end. The drops fall through and into the bridge, where they are absorbed and ready to be atomized. The drip tip fits tightly onto the atomizer, which is usually exposed, and prevents leakage of the juice around the junction of the tip and the atomizer.

Some people drip directly into the atomizer, replace the cart and vape, kind of like the way you prime the atomizer when it is new or freshly washed. Below is a picture of a 510 drip tip. Notice the funnel shape in the end. You drip in a couple or three drops, wipe off the end with a towel and vape 8 or 10 puffs and do it again. Dripping allows you to control the amount of juice in the atomizer and may give you better vapor than using a cart with filler material.

You can order a low resistance 306 drip tip and 306 atomizer for your 510 battery. This combination makes a short length Ecig that is conveniently pocket sized. When you pull off the drip tip, the bridge is exposed and easy to clean or drip directly on to the atomizer without trying to drip down into the 510 atomizer.

You can try dripping at no cost with your 510 atomizer. Just drip a couple of drops down the barrel into the bridge, install an empty cart with no filler and vape away. The effect is the same.

I started with an eGo-T, messing with one of my atomizers I ended up breaking it, and ruined the plate above the atomizer with the puncture devise. So I started using that exposed atomizer ( not even a bridge ) to drip a couple of drops of juice right on the atomizer and vape that.

It is the some of the best vaping I have had, 2 drops will do it for several draws, I just used a blank cartridge ( no filler ) as a mouth piece.... works fantastic.
