I was watching TV while at the gym (go me lol), when I noticed this quit smoking drive - Driven to Quit . Basically it's a competition to encourage smokers to quit for the month of March

I had a look at their info page and it says "tobacco-free means no use of tobacco products of any kind. You are allowed, however, to use nicotine replacement therapies (e.g. patch, gum, inhaler or lozenge) and/or a prescription medication to help you quit."

I was thinking that there are quite a few ex-smokers that have recently taken up vaping in this forum and that to qualify
"To be eligible, you must be an Ontario resident who:

  • Is 19 years of age or older as of March 1, 2012
  • have used tobacco at least:
    • once a week for a minimum of 10 months in 2011
    • and 100 times in your life
To remain eligible to win, you must be tobacco-free for the month of March 2012. All participants are encouraged to stay tobacco-free until winners are announced to remain eligible. For full contest rules, click here."

Can we do something with this to help promote vaping?

Just an idea, probably a bad one though

Taken from your link of the rules (see #4):

"Tobacco-free or smoke-free means no use of commercial Tobacco products of any kind. Entrants are permitted to use nicotine replacement therapies (e.g. patch, gum, inhaler or lozenge) and/or prescription medication(s). As the use of electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) is not regulated in Canada, not enough is known about the nicotine levels in these products. Participants are advised not to use electronic cigarettes, as they may produce a positive cotinine level in a urine test, deeming a participant ineligible to win in The Driven to Quit Challenge, even if tobacco was not used."

Oh darn, I totally missed that - although I don't see how other NRT won't especially as some patches are very heavy on the nic :(
