Dropped end cap

Good morning! I dropped one of my end caps this morning and now I can't get it to screw back in to my Provari. I ordered a replacement along with some Noalox. Is there any chance the old one will work after I put the Noalox on it? Anything else I can do to salvage it? Thanks.

Closely inspect the threads on the cap for burrs or dents.

As Dalton says there must be some thread damage. Don't try to force it back on the body else you risk damaging the other half of the thread. Examine the threads for damage, if not too bad you may be able to repair it with fine file.
