Yup, you read it right. I am now a member of the d.y.ec.i.t.t (dropping your ecig in the toilet) group.
I dropped my ego 900 in the toilet and it was in the water, clean by the way, for less than 1 second. Now when I try to use it, the blue light flashes on and off endlessly (actually for about five minutes) and the red light where you plug the charger is on although I am not connected to the charger.
Does this mean that I will have to buy a new battery? I am hoping not. Does anyone else have any experiences like this?

Thank you! I had a feeling it might be something like; and so, I have another suggestion that just occurred to me. I frequently have to dry things out, but can't use any sort of heat. I use crystal cat litter. It's very close to (and sometimes the same, depending on who makes it) the desiccant in the little bags you find in new suitcases and stuff. It might be worth a shot if the rice doesn't work.

The idea behind recovering any wet electronic device is that you let it dry out completely before attempting to use it again, (giving a circuit no chance to short). Rice quickens the process by acting as a moisture absorbent -- sealing the device in a ziploc bag full of desiccant packets is even better. Problem is, you attempted to use it while still wet. Crossing my fingers for you.

Dry it as well as you can inside and out. Then bury all the parts in dry rice to absorb the moisture.

Thanks! As I said above, I thought it might be like that. I use crystal cat litter as a desiccant, since I have to leave stuff to dry for weeks and I think rice would deteriorate.

Which could have ended with a burn/fire/explosion

Amazingly the Chinese stored rice for months without deterioration.
Only if you lived on a boat or in a moisturous place would it get clumpy.

Yeah, could be the issue. I know the sooner you can get the battery out of a wet phone the better the chances it will work again. And then there is the whole corrosion thing that will probably take place and shorten the overall life. But hey, you might get some more life out of it. My friends vmax went wake boarding and dried it with rice. Works today.

I'm gonna design a WATERPROOF PV with one way drip tip.
All stainless or aluminium and has a fob for hooking to your wetsuit.
It's gonna be fun vaping while surfing the San Clemente shoreline.

Now your talkin brother! The river in the summer claims e cigs like crazy.
