Drug store cotton?

I searched and still have a question. Just hoping for confirmation. I have a Phoenix I want to re coil w mesh and want to try cotton wicking. Local vape shop is out. I know I can get cotton balls and roll it up but am I looking for organic cotton? Pharmacy grade? Thanks!

Cheese cloth for food grade use.. ? pull strands one at a time and then line them up like a string? I've seen it done on RBA how-to videos. Perhaps medical gauze would work the same? They do say you need to boil the cotton for 10 minutes to clean off any waxes or whatnot used to help the weaving or spinning process.

Never done it myself, just seen a few how-tos.

You can use cotton balls too. I think you just have to boil them first. Also, they can't be dry burned. They will actually burn.

You can use any 100% untreated cotton. I use some compressed cotton make-up removal pads, that I pinched off the Wife. They are 100% cotton, untreated, unbleached. I re-wicked 3 Evods and a couple of mini vivi novas today, but I've used cotton on an aga t2 in the past. It's a bit harder with the aga, checking for hotspots obviously, but the flavour from cotton is immense. Well worth doing.
