Not sure if it has been covered, but out of the box I was getting dry and burned tasting hits if I was vaping hard with the Mini Vivi Nova and mech mod. After reading about wicking materials and how they work I decided to thoroughly clean and allow my atomizer head to dry. After it had fully dried I cut 1/4 inch off of each side of the wick.I then took each individual strand of the wick and twisted it in the opposite direction that it is twisted out of the box, basically unraveling the strands.I did not untwist all the way to the head,I left about 1/8th of an inch twisted to avoid problems.I can say problem solved...no more dry or burned hits no matter how crazy I go with my vaping.I dont know if it has been covered or not,but just wanted to share my experience.

Also, I find that if I clean my bottom feed coil out after use it doesn't get all funkified...just rinse it with hot water, blow it out 3x, (some even say soak in eveclear [pure alcohol] then blow it out...that should remove the burnt juice that is in the coil and wick if its running too hot

(worse case, rebuild it like in the above tutorials)

What voltage and resistance of coils are you running? (you might be running too hot for your juice)

Me I clean all the time. In my case this was a new coil. Turned it down from 3.9 volts to 3.3 and it still had dry hits until I juiced the heck out of the coil. Now it is fine. The last new coil I fluffed out the wick which did help but I may have untwisted my old one a bit as that one started having some leaking problems. I am so used to running BBC now that I tend to forget that top coils are rather finiscky.
