Thanks much. I love smoking my real pipes, but not the grief I get from my wife for the smell. Plus this has to be healthier. Looks like it will be illegal soon though. Too bad.

illegal soon....maybe...who know for sure....its all speculation.

just enjoy it.

plus.......if you order from china...order in bulk.....its cheaper in the long run and you will be set for awhile

Purchased my DSE601 and received it a week ago. It's been working perfectly and great, AFTER I found MY problem...YMMV. The batter was working, dripping worked, full cartridge, changed cartridge....did not work...only dripping. Bad atomizer? After playing, sadly all day, I noticed the cotton was recessed farther in the cartridge than when I began. All of this on the second day! I pulled the cotton up, flush with the edge of the cartridge, and everything worked great. Have used it daily...battery lasts more than a day, cartridge lasts a full day...just keep the cotton up. It will begin to recess as the liquid depletes, so 'keep it up'. A week later, it's still working great!

well...im gonna take the plunge and order one for myself today.

ive been debating if i should order one for about 3 weeks...there is just something about it that tells me i should get it.

i pm'ed a well-respected forum member and has told me 3 have died on him lasting about 3 weeks each even with maintenance....yet im still gonna get one

im ordering it from ruyandirect...mainly because they have a 1 year warranty on the pipe bowl atomizer and they have blank carts...and also gonna order a spare battery for a total of 3.

i have 2 ruyan e-cigars and love them...i vape heavily with them...1 with menthol and the other with RY4

i sold my 901...hasn't gotten much use in the past 3 weeks.

when i want a strong hit...i drip my 801 and mini pipe.

wish me luck :)

BTW....joniliff....how is your 601 holding up?

:cool:I bought the cheap e-pipe from ebay before the ban for £15 about $24usd
and after a week I got no vapor and no light, I thought the atomizer had gone, but it hadn't I tried to connect the battery terminal link to the other point in the bowl of the pipe and the LED lit and atomizer heated, so it was the switch that had gone. After this I soldered a small piece of cable to the 2 terminal point and soldered a small piece of stiff wire to the tip of the battery terminal pointing up. Drilled a hole in the jewel cap for the stiff wire and bent the battery terminal up away from battery. Now after putting battery in and cap on all I do is push this button and it has just become a manual e-pipe, Works great.

Got my 601 from LiteCigUSA abt 3 weeks ago.
I love this thing. Lots of fog and the flavors are robust. Easy draw......

Last night, actually 3am I swapped batteries. The room was dimly lit and I accidently put the batt in reversed. The color of the battery and dull metal look a lot alike in very low light at 3am without your glasses on.

Went back to reading the forum postings, topped off my 501 and picked up my pipe.
HOT! I quickly pulled the mouthpiece and cart to see if the atty was stuck on....nope.
A fast check of the battery.......Crap! (Not what I actually was saying)

This was a total of 5 min from the battery change. Well the meltdown was from circuit.
All it would do is blink green indicating a low battery. The other battery was still ok, I just put a fresh one in each day to cycle them. Charged them both and still the same the next day. Tried the cleaning cycle..barely sizzled..

Now I have a dead body.....(insert cussing here).
For .05 cents they could have added a diode in one battery line that would not let it work in cases like this and even an LED, like red, to indicate that something was wrong.
Yes, it would cause a .7v drop in voltage, but it runs for 2 days and at full charge measures 4.15v. So I doubt anyone would ever notice.

If I could get to the wiring I'd just make it a manual. Activating the cleaning cycle didnt give me a nice red atty. Will have to try a temporary jumper on the cleaning pad to see if its hot enough to vape or if the blinking circuit is trying to keep it off due to the low voltage it thinks it has. Sigh............................(insert more self abuse cussing here)

Please be careful with yours.......

My 601 lives ! Not normal, but not unusable either.

I tried everything to reset the most likely fried circuit. The more I thought abt it the circuit could not have possibly made that much heat through such a thick body when the battery was in backwards.

I put it back in reversed after priming the atty....I see vape and hear sizzle!
So, I put a piece of clear tubing on the swing arm so it would hold the battery in and not be activated. Then I inserted a piece of wire inside the tubing on top of the arm, letting abt 1/4" extend out.
If I leave the top off I can press the wire down on the battery top and vape away like a manual mode. Getting that 5 min burn taste out was no tasty job.

Not much room for a switch. The white battery holder is a hard plastic. It might dremel out. The ideal place to mount it would be on the bowl facing the stem. From what I can see thats where the LED wires go down and probably some others.

Anyway, I can still get some use from it and all is not lost.

If anyone has a body that has a known bad atomizer, I'd love to have one donated to split in 1/2 with my dremel. I'd post pics so everyone could see where all the internal stuff is. I'd like to see also how that atty is mounted. I've read its glued. Might be able to find a solvent for it so it could be removed and replaced with a new atty from something else. Making the mod a replaceable unit! PM me if you have one to donate for the cause.

Hi, Yes the pipe is real wood. Very well built. They just didnt make the atomizer user friendly to replace or even make them widely available.

Yes, I've been thing of converting a "real" pipe to an e pipe. Be pretty easy after seeing the insides of this one. You could do it as a manual switch.

I rebuilt my atomizer, removed the bad circuit and added a switch. Workes great now.

Here is a link to the 601 rebuild thread.

Have fun.

I've seen them other places as the whole bowl unit. Price was the same I think.
That will have the circuit, pressure switch and the new atty.

I removed my atty and made a new coil for it. It's in the Atomizer Rebuilders thread.
Some good info there on rebuilding any atty. You can get 36ga nichrome wire cheap.
$2.00 for 10 ft. I posted the link in the thread.

Here is the Atomizer Rebuilders thread....gerat info there and pics

I was pretty sure Shawn (LiteCigUSA) had them.
I bought my pipe from him. Best price I could find. Not a knock off either.
I could have returned it and Shawn would have replaced it if I just said "it quit". LiteCigUSA has great customer service.
But, I killed it by putting the batt in backwards. ( dim room, no glasses @ 3am).
He wouldn't have know the diff, but that not fair to him. That eventually raises the price or the supplier will quit stocking if there is a lot of failures.

I have made two orders from litecig and I have been incredibly pleased. the juices are wonderful and Shawn Probst is wonderful to deal with. I have a blu cig which I love and the 801 attys fit beautifully. this was very handy when both of my blu atomizers died at the same time! I would (and have) recommended litecig to everyone I talk to about ecigs!
