Got my 601 from LiteCigUSA abt 3 weeks ago.
I love this thing. Lots of fog and the flavors are robust. Easy draw......
Last night, actually 3am I swapped
batteries. The room was dimly lit and I accidently put the batt in reversed. The color of the battery and dull metal look a lot alike in very low light at 3am without your glasses on.
Went back to reading the forum postings, topped off my 501 and picked up my pipe.
HOT! I quickly pulled the mouthpiece and cart to see if the atty was stuck on....nope.
A fast check of the battery.......Crap! (Not what I actually was saying)
This was a total of 5 min from the battery change. Well the meltdown was from circuit.
All it would do is blink green indicating a low battery. The other battery was still ok, I just put a fresh one in each day to cycle them. Charged them both and still the same the next day. Tried the cleaning cycle..barely sizzled..
Now I have a dead body.....(insert cussing here).
For .05 cents they could have added a diode in one battery line that would not let it work in cases like this and even an LED, like red, to indicate that something was wrong.
Yes, it would cause a .7v drop in voltage, but it runs for 2 days and at full charge measures 4.15v. So I doubt anyone would ever notice.
If I could get to the wiring I'd just make it a manual. Activating the cleaning cycle didnt give me a nice red atty. Will have to try a temporary jumper on the cleaning pad to see if its hot enough to vape or if the blinking circuit is trying to keep it off due to the low voltage it thinks it has. Sigh............................(insert more self abuse cussing here)
Please be careful with yours.......
