First, if you've seen my other thread, it's clear that I'm a newb to e-cigs in general, an e-pipes in particular. That should be stated as I give my opinions, and I do seek any advice from others.

First, I must give credit to Aqua Vapor, and their lightning fast shipping. I ordered the pipe on the 16th, they shipped on the 17th, and it made if from NC to my country post office in time to be delivered today.

The pipe is fairly well packaged in the box, and the instructions were almost laughably translated Chinese to English. Given that this is the first e-smoke product that I've actually received with instructions, they were clear enough to understand. Everything within the box was packaged well and arrived intact.

While charging the batteries, I went to task learning how to fill the tank and blank cartomizers. It would have been much more helpful had AV put in their instructions to remove the rubber stopper inside of the cartomizer to prime it. Once I figured that out, piece of cake.

The pipe functions by drawing, not by any mechanical function. Honestly, I think I would have preferred some sort of switch. I thought that it would produce more vapor than it does, and frankly, many draws have been somewhat disappointing compared to my cheap ... back up e-cig. If I give a quick puff and then pull on it, it seems to be a little better. Not terrible, but not quite what I was expecting.

So, overall, I suppose that it isn't bad for a beginner's pipe. It was much easier to justify purchasing this as a newb, than one of the much more expensive types, such as an EPM. I will be looking to learn if there are ways that I might improve this pipe, in order to get a better smoke. If anyone has any tips, tricks, or advice, I openly welcome them.

ETA: The pipe has an LED inside the bowl, that according to instructions, is supposed to light up when smoking. This has not been the case. It's flashed green when I attach the battery, but other than the very first puff, it has not lit up. It doesn't really bother me; I could care less whether there is a gimmicky light to make it look like a real pipe.

Regarding flavors: The only thing that I'd tried prior was menthol, and I thought that I'd give some tobacco flavors a shot. The Black Tobacco isn't very good at all, in my first opinion. I did mix almost 50/50 cherry in with it, and it has a better flavor now. Butterscotch tastes more like buttered popcorn than butterscotch. I'll let them steep, and see what I think. But, it seems that I'll probably stick with less tobacco flavors in the future.

Good morning Birddog,
What type of cartos are you using with that tank? Are they a standard 510 connection? If so, perhaps a different brand of carto or just one with a lower resistance would help.
I'm sure you've got the carto primed properly, but I'm going to direct you to this blog post:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3710-5-cartomizer-tank-setup.html
Baditude is a big fan of carto tanks, and his info helped me to get my tanks squared away.

Don't lock yourself out of any particular flavors. If you're new to this and fresh off of cigarettes, be aware that your tastes will change quite a bit during and after the first few months. Also, look for the term "vapor tongue" in the main forum. If you've got a local vaping store, make sure you sample as many flavors as you can, even if it sounds like something you don't want; you might be surprised at what's good and what's not.

Okay, the 618 does have standard 510 threads, which is good. Fortune favored me today, and I happened to stumble upon a phenomenal local e-smoke shop. They happily answered all of my newbie questions, and as a show of gratitude, I purchased a Kanger ProTank II. It mates up perfectly to the pipe, and the diameter of the body and tank are the same, so it fits aesthetically, as well. Well, other than the brass colored fitting on the pipe...but I can fix that.

As near as I've figured out, the carto that comes with the pipe is proprietary, but the tank is glass, which is nice. I'm not terribly concerned with the proprietary parts; the blank cartos are cheap enough.

I don't know if perhaps the carto had to work itself in, or what, but it seems to smoke better now, and I'm happy with it. Mixing the Back Tobacco and Cherry has produced a very nice flavor that I'm thoroughly enjoying.

I stopped by a head shop today, as I saw that they carried some e-smoke stuff. They actually had the old 601 model, so I got to compare them. Honestly, I thought that the pipe body on the 601 looked and felt nicer, but clearly, having a tank and carto system is so much better than the old pipe model.

I'm too much of a newb to even know what a RDA is!

I'm trying to get into my photobucket account, but something is going wrong. I took a pic, and I'll get it posted when I can.

Ok thanks man :) RDA is a rebuilable atomizer where you wrap the wick and coil to the ohms you want .They work great but need to make sure you have good batteries and multi meter and knowledge on how to build them right before you use them .

No rush on pic man.I dont even have funds for one yet just like to learn as much as I can before getting something new.

One thing that you might want to consider, and I'm looking forward to payday myself, is just ordering a pipe body. AV has the mechanical version pipe body itself for sale. I'm going to pick one up, and then I'll use it with my PTII, and that way I can switch it up.

King ePipe Replacement Body Assembly - The King ePipe Body Assembly Includes the Wood housing and Top Cap Assembly

This would be perfect ! Great find man :) If you get a chance measure the diameter of the connection spot for me and then all I will need to do is find a RDA thats same size and get some batts.Im going to search and find diameter of protank if I can to found out since you said it matches up well.

I'm curious about the dia. of the listed body as well; hopefully it'll match perfectly w/my Protank as well. I've got a few ideas for modding that out.

I'd love an EPM body, but I'm just an enlisted guy w/a Harley habit, and I can't afford another pricey hobby!

Yeah same here ! Figure Ill go cheaper and then upgrade one of these days :) The EPM bodies are amazing !
