I keep getting the same thing. New batteries that last for a week, then suddenly stop heating the atomizer. Other batteries work fine so it's not the atomizer, and the bad batteries won't work on any other atomizers either. I tried cleaning the contacts, but still nothing... this is the third battery that this has happened to all within the first week... anyone know of a fix?

One of the batteries for my DSE901 has become unusable (thank the lord the kit came with two).

Every time I connect it to the atomizer, it starts to heat the atomizer to the point where the whole device is too hot to touch, and this is after >30 seconds of being connected.

Has anyone had a similar issue and/or can recommend a solution?

Also, I'm emailing PureSmoker after I finish this post. Trying to see what they say too.

Thanks,
JEF

Oh, goody, joining the ranks of 901 battery problems here:

I have had NO problems with my kit after a week of constant use. Boyfriend's is another story -- he's not really into this, and left his battery/atomizer connected for about a week, taking an occasional drag. The battery LED finally started blinking last night, so I put it in the charger before bed. This morning the LED is steady green (green is his trouble-color, his LED is orange when everything's working). Not blinking. I removed it from the charger; still steady green. I hooked it up to my atomizer to see what was going on, STILL steady green and it immediately made my atomizer very hot so I took it off!

It's still sitting on the counter, glowing solid green. Anyone ever run into this? It's like it won't stop putting out power. Figured I'd check with you guys to get some ideas before contacting my seller. I'm guessing it was a bad idea to leave BF's cig hooked up and lying on a counter for a week.

PBC is Printed Circuit Board. There are two small ones ,in the 901 anyway, One has the "switch" on it, and when you suck, it pulls on a rubber thing that connects two small plates to close the switch. the current then runs up the wires from the circuit board to the terminals. But the circuit boards also controll the saftey shut off, the LED's, and the cleaning cycle. So it sounds like the switch is stuck on, and the saftey isn't working... could be a short, possibly from juice in the battery. then again, i could be completely stupid and it might just be something simple to fix.

Beautiful discovery...

Haven't even tried, but trust this is the issue. Have one that only works on some atomizers.

Basically my note to self is not to screw the batteries too far into the charger, maybe even leave them a tad bit on the loose side.

There needs to be a sticky of your post (well maybe I should try it first, haha)...

Good find! Thanks for the info...

Sometimes I feel like just tossing everything and starting over. How can something require so much tinkering and troubleshooting?

I know what you mean.

I keep working towards the day we can finally get a govt ruling that says e-cigs are ....what ever ...just allowed & I have no doubts that mass production for PVs will start across the country and the competition factor is going to be: who has the most reliable parts!

So I did try this on the one battery that wouldn't work wit the other atomizer and it works like a champ.

Makes perfect sense. I would guess the inner contact is designed to push in to self adjust to variances of atomizers (of course an o-ring would need to be there to not short the contact in any case even if this isn't designed to self adjust). My guess it is doing what it is supposed to.

Wonder how many batteries go back because of this (not to be confused with the stuck switch which is a legitimate defect)...

Just be careful on how tight you put it in the charger.
And if for some reason the LED glows but no vapor then the contact just needs to be pulled out slightly.

Now I am just looking for a better method then a paper clip (e.g. to pull straight out), but I don't want to short out the contacts by using pliers or tweezers or anything.

The paperclip works, though. Just wish I could pull straight out rather than wiggle out...

I've got a brand new 901 battery. The led works but no vapor.

Anyone else had this happen?
I have one in my personal stash that has that problem with one of my atomizers, works fine with another atomizer. Problem with mine (and my guess it's the same with yours) is that the middle contact isnt making connection with the middle contact on the atomizer when screwed together. As mentioned in this thread, see this post by Krotch http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...38-here-new-battery-problem-2.html#post254651
