So I am all excited when the maiman delivers my SmokTech Dual Coil cartos.
I fill one up, 50 drops before it's full: so far very surprised.

Let it sit 5 minutes.
First 5 vapes: very little vapor, no flavor.
But THEN. that horrible burnt carto taste we have all come to hate.
That lasts for another 10 vapes, I can't take it anymore..... haven't tried it again.

I am using these on a 3.7v PigCig (cone type e-cig)with a 501/901 adapter.

What is going on? Suggestions?

Like I said, the 50 drops surprised me as well, but - if the 50 drops went in, and only ~1 leaked out, then it's the right amount. No?
There was , and still is no gurgling sound (as if it were flooded), the draw is pretty light, and since I am letting it sit- no additional liq is coming out....
I guess time will tell

So for the next one I fill: how full do you make the 'condom' for the bottom fill (1/2?): then how many additional drops do add thru the top?

just fill the condom up to about half full or a little bit more and slide it on the battery end. After you do that wait a minute or so for absorption and then drip about 10-20 drops into the top slowly. you should be good to go. I wait a few minutes for it to soak in.. Sounds like you might have gotten a bad one the first time around.

you might not need as many as 20 drops from the top. Just see if it is soaking in after 10 drops from top after you do your bottom fill with condom.

I've filled three so far, with 45 to 50 drops in each. Different bottles and juice give different drip sizes. All were filled from the top, 8 to 10 drops, let it soak in a couple of seconds, then continue. No bad taste from mine, but I have noticed a little harshness from my vanilla bland if I get it too hot. I try to not stay on the button the entire length of the draw to keep the heat down.

Quality control isn't the best on any of our supplies and you may indeed have a bad one. Out of the four from my purchase, one has messed up threads and is unusable.

Ive been using em for about 3 wks. now. Mine all hold 60 drops. Never have I had a burnt taste. BUT...they need to be used correctly. If you dont give it a few seconds to cool in between hits....then maybe you could get a burnt taste, I never have. Iam really impressed with these things. I have NEVER liked cartomizers.....until now.

I was very surprised at the amount it took, this is a thinner flavor which may help.
Sonnycrack- did your first one ever work correctly?

I was so mad I tore it apart.. I pulled the filler out thinking maybe that was the problem. I ended up destroying it completely in about 20 mins start to finish.. lol

Slowly drop into top, around edge until full. They take around 60 drops. Let set a few minutes, then blow out (so you can see through it). I have not burned one yet. I have used close to 40 of them (four vapors and many liquids). My son did burn a clear dual from hot boxing it. It was burnt at the inner sleeve.

If it is a clear dual coil, you can take it apart and put it back together. When it is (loosely) on the battery, wiggle the tube back and forth. It will come off, and you can inspect/repair/clean it.

OK- the second one I did with condom and top fill: works like a champ. I'll let the first one sit and maybe " it's not dead yet" (as Monty Python would say)
Thanks all..

Thats good Pro. Glad it is working good for ya. I doubt the first one will come back. Sounds like an internal problem.
