So I needed to get a new coil to continue using my favorite tank. I ended up buying 4 dual coils, 1.5 ohms. My question is this. Using my ohms calculator app (god bless it) it says 6 or 7 watts is perfect for it so since it I dual coil does that mean I can double to watts? Or would going to 9/11 watts burn it out?
Yeah I have 4 coils but I don't want to run them out to fast.
The short answer is it depends. 1.5 ohms is 1.5 ohms and your device doesn't care how many coils are in there of what resistance.
If you are using a vaping power chart to get the 6-7 watts sweet spot, I would say most newer clearos can be vaped at a higher wattage without burning.
At the end of the day, start low and keep increasing the wattage until you get a flavor and vapor that you enjoy. Even if you turn it up too high and do get a burnt taste, you can just reduce the power a little and continue to vape. You won't burn anything or cause any damage doing this (I suppose unless you are using cotton and turn it up way too high)
Coil heads with wicking made from silica (almost all of them are with the exception of BVC from Aspire) are pretty hardy and cannot actually burn. You could literally hold a piece of the wicking material into a flame from a lighter or torch and it would not even scorch.
