I know. I am extremely impressed with RM2. The size of the air chamber is perfect. I think Hornet's was too small. It allows for a ton of different wick and coil configurations, where as Hornet is more limited.
I still like one thing of Hornet over it though -- the pop off cap. I know that RM2's air hole lines up correctly, but it's still not as fiddle friendly as press-fit cap.
Given that, it's still my favorite atomizer so far.

It's a bit sloppy but meters out at 1.8. 32g kanthal around a needle bar. It's wicked with an organic cotton ball.

It's not all hot and poppy, it's really smooth, full vapor and excellent flavor!... So far:)

I'll report back

Hi, I'm new here and have a Reo2.1 and a RM2. I have been making coils w/cotton, bamboo and ss mesh using drill bit, toothpick and a needle cap. All have work well, so far the best has been the cotton with the drill bit 30ga. with 10 raps 1.68. I like your dual coil set up. Did you put them in the same hole or one on top? What is a needle bar? I have some 32ga but I was thinking it would make it to high. I will give this a try next time. :) Thank you to all of you!! you have been a great help. P.S. let us know how it's working out!

Welcome to the club boatman!

I put both coils in the same hole. A bit of patients is needed! A needle bar is what connects my tattoo needles to my machines. It's slightly larger than a tooth pick and stainless steel. Makes building coils quite easy. The 32g wire put these coils at roughly 3ohms each. Just perfect for dual coils!

I've been using the same set up you prefer for a few months now. Kind of my default coil.

I brought this setup to work with no back up today! It's still doing quite well! It wicks well, vapes well and looks cool...

Thank you Inkdog, One thing I'm not clear about each coil roughly 3ohms each, but when you put two it is less??? I think you said it was ( 1.82 I think) ???? Is that correct?

If the coils are wired in parallel, the resistance is half of each coil.

Edit to clarify:

(Ω of coil #1)(Ω of coil #2)/(Ω of coil #1)+(Ω of coil #2) = apparent resistance of both coils when wired in parallel

I made a hybrid earlier with horizontal SS mesh and cotton ball wick thru that, after seeing Commie turn it into a Genesis! I am thinking un-oxidized mesh may be best.

it works fine - but i like that dual coil arrangement a lot better. Apart from the fact i am killing cotton wicks and remaking things daily!

Seems to me the squonk on them all is a little different and i flooded one today, just to be sure i kept it all unburned (good grief).
