Can someone give me the main advantage to dual coil setups. I know the new trend is towards dual coil units, but dual coil setups seem to be problematic for the following reasons.

1. Dual Coils drain more from the battery. All dual coils are parallel, so to get the coils to fire at their "desired" wattage you would need to double the power out of the battery. This seems it would be really tough on batteries

2. Dual Coils drink juice quicker. With dual coils you're essentially vaping twice the juice per 'hit'

3. Dual Coils are tougher to rebuild. Now instead of one coil, you need to consider both coils and also have an effective means of preventing them from touching each other. This seems to add a lot of complexity to rebuilding your heads.

Despite these issues dual coils seem to be gaining in popularity. Do these units really give "double your pleasure"? Especially since you're draining your battery twice as quick and using double your juice.

It appears to me that micro coils would be easier to rebuild and still give you the additional surface area to vape more e-juice. It also appears that micro coils would drain the battery less than a dual coil system.

Thanks for your input.

I wouldn't count on a dual coil clearo head being something that can be rebuilt easily. I haven't tried one, but I imagine they might vape better out of the box if you hit it with enough voltage to properly fire each coil. If you rebuild, I don't think a clearo can perform much better than if you put a 2ish ohm microcoil in it. IMO dual coils are kind of a gimmick, the same performance can be achieved with a single coil that uses thicker wire. It all boils down to coil surface area and temperature, as long as your wick can keep up. Cotton solves the latter.
