Dumb questions but need answers!

hello everyone. I been using a mech mod for sometime and wanted to spice things up a little. Purchased a new. Cloupor mini. nifty little device. All batteries are Efest 18650, 3.7v, 35a, 2500mah. As for attys/rda I have 2 Atlantis tanks, 1 Atlantis 2 tank, Kanger Subtank Mini a few Tobhs and kfl+. I generally use the Atlantis 2 and Subtank.

I still cannot grasp the difference between watts and voltage settings because my device can go up to 7.0v and 30w. When I look on my device with a .5 ohm coil it says 4.06 but the device can go to 7 when in variable mode?

My other question is I know sub ohms were somewhat needed to make clouds with a mech mod but with vv/vw I heard you can make lower resistant at a 1.0+/- ohms and get a better cloud because of the surface area and wattage pumped in.

My last question is for a .50 coil/Atlantis/Subtank what's an ideal wattage and or voltage? Do I wanna stay on watts or Use vv. lastly when using the mech mod what watts or volts was I naturally using estimated.

Thanks again and sorry for dumb questions !

Watts vs. Volts is a different way to get you to the same place.

Your mech fired at 4 volts with a fresh battery, depending on voltage drop. Then it leveled off at 3.7 for awhile.

With vw or vv, you set it where you want it, and theoretically, it'll stay there until your battery dies. It won't decline with the battery like a mech. Rather, it shouldn't.

No one can say what's the best setting for you with a .5 Atlantis. Start at 15w and adjust up until you're happy.

I can't answer all of your questions, but others here can.

First question, watts and voltage. The relationship between the two is part of Ohm's Law. If you are messing around with a mech mod already, you should know the formula. Watts = Volts * Volts / Resistance. With a .5 ohm coil and the Clouper set to 30 watts, you get around 4 volts. The Clouper will calculate the voltage needed to achieve 30 Watts. It WON'T fire 7 volts just because it can because it has limitations. In fact, in order to get it to do 7 volts at 30 watts, your coil will need to be around 1.6 ohms. I'm not sure how good a vape that would be. The beauty of a variable wattage device is that it calculates your voltages for you.

Second question, clouds... not my arena. I chase flavor. On my kayfuns I use a 2 ohm coil (10 wraps on 28 gauge) because I get more surface area for flavor production. The Kayfun is not a cloud producing device.

Third question, ideal wattage. That one is a moving target. I prefer to adjust in wattage. And my ideal wattage for a build will probably be different than yours. The .5 ohm OCC coil for the Subtank has a suggested wattage range of 15-30 watts. I like mine around 18-20. Some people like theirs higher. Some even push it past that. I believe the suggested range for the Atlantis is a bit higher.
A mech mod is designed to deliver straight battery power so your calculated wattage would be dependent on your resistance on your coil. And as the battery got weaker, your wattage would go down.
