It's always a good plan to wick the coil before filling an rta with juice. Doesn't hurt to know where the kittens are when building. They really like to help.

If the "kids" aren't around when you're rebuilding your rta, they are probably in the bathroom unrolling your last roll of toilet paper.

A couple of months after receiving my first mech mod, I unintentionally blew up a battery.

The mod had a rather protruding fire button. I didn't consider the possibility that because of that protruding fire button that I shouldn't put it into a tight fitting jeans pocket.

Scenario: Put my street clothes into my locker at work. Put my mod into the jeans pocket. Fire button gets pressed continuously, causing the battery to over-discharge to battery failure and explode and flame. Could have caused a major incident had the locker room gone up in flames and then lose my job.

Like many new vapers, I didn't know much about batteries at the time. I didn't know that they can explode and cause fires if misused or abused.

We take so much for granted. When "John", the member who listed a "buying list" for me my first week here, I just bought what he told me. Nothing comes w/instructions. I had no clue. I had some boge cartos, and a stick bat. And one clearo and some juice.

I was even scared to "touch" the ejuice, cuz I thought i had to wear a glove  I really hadn't read many posts......I just wanted to get started and QUIT......I mean, THAT day.

Dumbest thing I ever did? I got everything assembled, got the ejuice dripped into the cotton batting in the carto...........then....Um.....nobody told me I'd have to press a button.

John had left me his phone number in a PM and *directed* me to call. It was about 9pm at night. PRESS THE BUTTON.

I didn't think I could possibly be that dumb, but I was so nervous and jittery and wasn't thinking straight.

Filling my KF prime without my glasses on. Kept squeezing the bottle, tank level wasn't rising. Noticed my fingers were wet...squinted at things and noticed I had the tip of my fill bottle in the chimney. Juice was going straight down to the coil and out the air flow holes. Wound up with about 15 ml of juice on the outside of my mod and a gooey hand.

Lesson learned.

I dont know if it was a mistake perse, but when I very first began vaping I was having a difficult time drawing - kept doing it wrong. I ended up going to YouTube and found a video on how to draw on an e-cigarette, and had to sit on the porch with the laptop running the how to, along with a cigarette and an e-cigarette, and I actually felt silly as I "learned" how I smoked so I could "learn" how to vape, but I did conquer all!

other than that I'm with @listopencil on making myself nic sick due to a new RTA I was fiddling with. Used to do that all the time. If you fiddle you might like some zero nic juice.. lol

Other than that I have now kissed a hot coil... I swore I'd never do it and did end up being just that dumb.. lol.. always put the cap back on your RDA before vaping!

While sitting at the computer and just after applying some drops to my RDA .Got so interested in reading in the computer, that I forgot to put the top with the drip tip back on my RDA. So went to take a drag and found my lips touching the two RDA post just before I hit the start button. That was close.

One of my first RTAs kept leaking after what looked like a good build. After a few tanks spilt realized I hadn't put in the single coil plug to block the side from leaking.

Thought I was out of the woods. Then I opened it yet again to find I placed the coil on the side with the divot for the plug to fit. Rebuilt and after half a roll of paper towels finally got it all done.

Then got a dry hit from over wicking it. Not my best day.

Interchanging the water bottle in the car for the vape, water bottles have no fire button and vapes do. Ie; trying to get vapour from a water bottle and a drink from a mod & tank.... I am sooo bright my maw called me son.
I reckon that ECF have 'full and frank' knowledge of how dumb I can be. More instalments will come to pass in my further & past posts without intent.

Went out with the smokers at work for our "smoke" break...me vaping. Asked to borrow a lighter, because I knew I got rid of all mine, and didn't have one. Because I vape. Don't smoke. Knowing all this in my head...I still almost tried to light my tank! I was inches away. I'm literally holding my mod to my lips with one hand and the light in the other. Bad day? Force of habit? or....

I still Haven't Topped this yet. And to be honest, I'm Glad I Haven't.

The dumbest, and possibly the most embarrassing thing I ever did was put my PV with a full E2 carto in my pants pocket before doing a Power Point presentation in front of about 60 people.

Needless to say, the carto leaked and by the time I felt it I had a nice wet spot about 2” from my pants zipper.

When the first coilers appeared, I seemed not to be able to make one. The turns would go one on top of the other. Until I realized I was putting too much pressure on the cap as I was turning...
Yet, 3 years later my legs are NEVER straight, and I have to use pliers to straighten them...

Checking the ohms of my coil on my provari with a dry wick, not primed yet. The provaris fire your coil up. Burnt wick ugh.
When I used to drink I was lit and was building on my RDAs and RTAs, I went to go hit my RTA which just the deck and coil on my mech. Burnt my lip trying to vape my coil:lol:
