Dura JDTS LR Atomizer

Hi,

I got my order today and although it was a bit messed up (got carts instead of cartomizers), the quality of the items i received is brilliant. If only I had started my vaping life at the Janty shop, it would have been an even nicer experience, it was my first but certainly not my last order.

One thing that puzzles me however are the JDTS LR atomizer that I got. I thought LR attys would have less resistance and I would need a lighter draw maybe even get warm vape. If I compare the atty that was included with the JDTS started kit and the LR one, there is however no difference. They work great, just they are pretty much the same.
Maybe I am just under the wrong expectation. Recently I tried the Kanger LR Cartomizer and I expected a similar light and warm draw from LR atomizers. Am I simply wrong there?

Thanks
Michael

The cartomizer types have a lighter draw indeed. Basically you can't compare a normal ato (be it standard, LR or Tank type) to a cartomizer because the concept is totally different.

The cartomizers' heating coil is protected by a non flammable kind of velcro and is furrther surrounded by, let's call it foam, which holds the liquid. Typically, this "foam" is layered in a circular way. The layers are spaced so that air can go through. This result is a lighter draw. However, after a week or so, the space between the layers gets clogged and you will notice that the draw becomes harder and harder.

Standard atty's (be it normal, LR, Tank system) do not have this "foam" around the heating coil, instead they have a naked heating coil wrapped around a nylon kind of thread. The nylon thread is supposed to suck up the liquid and guide it through the heating coil.

With the JDTS atomisers, the standard is 2.2ohms and the LR is 1.8 ohms.
Bearing in mind a tolerance of +/- 0.1, it is perfectly feasible that there could be not a great deal of difference in the ones you got.

Comparing them to Kanger LR cartos, personally I find the construct of them (in the way they operate) to have warmer vapour than other cartos of corresponding resistance.
I'm not quite sure why that is; but put it another way, I find the Kanger 2.5 bottom coils is more similar to a 2 ohm (or less) of another type of carto...
