Hey.
(Anyone not interested in the background information, just skip down to the smiley face taking hits.)
So...In order to determine if vaping was the thing for me I ordered a few cheap electronic cigarettes off dealextreme.com. many of you might know of this site... for those who don't, its a chinese online store that sells pretty much anything at a ridiculously low price (sometimes, but not always, compromising quality). I didn't want to go straight to a real deal starter kit without getting familiar with the basics of ecigs (i ended up totally going against these intentions since i found a great coupon for a usa shipped 510-t, which was delivered before the dx.com products arrived from china). I got used to the massive vapor production of the 510, so when the dx cigs came, I was naturally expecting ...-like quality in comparison. I need to wrap up this prologue and get to the point, but let me just tell you, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these things.
I ended up buying these puppies:
A. Quit Smoking USB Rechargeable Electronic Cigarette with 10-Refills (Random Flavor) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme
B. Electronic Cigarettes with Chargers and 10-Refills Set (110V~240V AC) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme
Take note that for under 13 dollars I received: 3 complete auto e-cigs, 3 usb chargers, 1 car charger, 13 pre-filled, refillable cartridges. Now I know that people here look down upon these e-health cigs, but for someone with no experience like myself, this is a pretty sweet deal.
But wait...there's more!

Now onto my discovery...
If you look at the pictures for the items above, you can see that the two pack has batteries with male threads, while the solo ecig has a battery with female threads. The lightbulb turned on over my head and I proceeded to to take the atomizer+cartridge from item A and screw it into the the usb charger for item B. Yes....a switchless passthrough was born, and worked ridiculously well. With a simple modification of the usb cable (I threw a switch on that b*tch), I now have a legit passthrough cable that works like a charm.
The dx ecigs don't have the best batteries...but when they are fully charged, the first few rips are very vaporfull. I'd even say its equal to my 510 in terms of vapor production. Now with the passthru, its like having a fully charged battery with every drag (as long as you're by a source of usb power).
Bottom line:
I know dx.com ecigs are not the PVs of choice for any veteran vapers. But for a noob just looking to try it out, the value is unmatched: 3 complete auto ecigs, 3 usb chargers, 1 usb car charger, 13 cartridges, passthrough...all for 13 bones.
Thank you for your time.
My apologies if the above was hard to follow.
