Everyone needs to understand that counterfeiting is NOT a rarity or an exception to the rule in China--it is the fundamental business model for their entire approach to doing business with the West. Not only is counterfeiting rampant in China, it is the norm over there. Their business model--and this goes ALL THE WAY to the top of their government--is to make cheap, knocked-off crap an sell it by the ship-load to the West--to not only steal their wealth and destroy their industrial base, but to demoralize their people by supplying them with ....ty, substanard, and even dangerous products.

This has been going on with electronics and electronic components for over a decade. Our own MILITARY has been victim to counterfeit Chinese products (electronic components that are currently being used in Navy and Air Force aircraft--which are made HERE in the USA have been found to contain counterfeit Chinese-sources electronic components...)

No, I automatically ASSUME that ANY vape-related gear IS counterfeit, and then by a process of elimination, figure out if it is actually legit. An most of the time it is not. And even if you DO really know what the real stuff looks like, it's VERY difficult because they are getting REALLY good at making fakes.
Case in point: I bought a Vivi Nova the other day at a Vape Meet from a reputable (but small, local) dealer that is EXACTLY the same as one that I got from Aqua Vapor in every detail--even the heads are interchangeable. The only difference is that the threads on the tank on the fake one were a little messy (had tiny little bits of plastic stuck to them where the threads were machined) and the packaging didn't have the "Vivi Nova" words on the front--but is EXACTLY the same as my legit Vivi box otherwise.
So what I'm getting at is that the MAJORITY of EVERYTHING coming out of China--from eGo battereis to Vivi Nova tanks to microchips and capacitors to VCRs to baby food and coffee makers--is counterfeit.
It's the REAL, legitimate, authorized items are the the rarity!
WTFU, folks. China is taking the piss on the entire planet, industrially. China is waging war on the US and the rest of the world--a very eadly, destructive and dehumanizing war. But they aren't using bombs and bullets--they are using their own slave labor (to de-industrialize the West by appealing to greedy business owners an cheap consumers) and loose trade practices (to sneak counterfeit--and even dangerous and poisonous--products into out nations)
And unlike other sociopathic tyrannies of the past, China will win against the West--because we are stupid enough to go along with their battle plan by continuing to buy their shoddy, dangerous crap.
