As many people have said... mods are just battery tubes... The magic is in the atomizer... the Liquid and as I have learned recently, the Drip tip.

Yes, the drip tip can deliver a different experience - The new Cannon Drip tips for the LR 306 atties makes a 306 vape like a super LR 801! I love it.

So - I think the mod you choose should suit your needs and/or style.

I wanted something that would fit discretely in my hand... Something durable and with great battery life.

I have a Bartleby and I love it - but, I wanted another mod that was more durable... I'll still vape my Bartleby like there's no tomorrow, but I wanted one that was a bit more heavy duty.

I settled on Puresmoker's ICON.
I have a friend or two that had the protege? whatever the icon replaced... and they loved it.

It's very well made. Sleek, tiny and fits one 14500 batt (900MAH)
Button on the bottom, locks, very comfortable and easy to use.

I have used it two days, so I can't comment on how it needs to be serviced... but in the site they sell washers and screws etc... so I imagine they need some care at some point.

Here's the feng shui...

A Cisco 306 LR attie with a cannon drip tip.

It's a great set up. Durable, reliable and discreet.

Creates plumes of vapor - tons of flavor and battery life is ridiculously good.
Anyway, just thought I'd share...
The Icon costs about $82 for the base kit.
Takes one 14500 batt.
Here's a pic of the set up...

What is that a tad longer than a 650 mah ego?

I was going to get one of those...then a prodigy...then I got a second hand mako locally...but I still like the lines on the icon...was getting it pretty much for the same reason LR 306 and LR cartomizers. I think its a nice looking unit, and the price is right for a mechanical tube mod (yea its more than a plastic box...but is far less than certain other mechanical units)

I really like the 14500 for a smallish mod.

The Icon is a great device,I have both the Icon, and the v3.1.The Icon I have is media blasted, and the v3.1 is just the stainless The Icon's media blasted finish gives it a duller look than the bigger
v3.1-but better grip-the v3.1 is so smooth it almost feels oily.
Both are great vapes,both run a long lasting battery.I let a friend borrow the Icon/w a new 510 atty,2 14500's ,charger,and a 5ml bottle of juice to try(maybe I'll make my first convert)mainly
because the Icon is so small it won't scare off people that ain't used smoking a flashlight.

Puresmoker's juice? I had cashcap - but haven't tried the Tonics... are they any good? What do they taste like?

Their Silver Leaf Menthol is terrific. Slightly beats out BWB for me. Tango tea, Berrodica, Peachy menthol are also very good. I don't do well at describing flavors, but they are worth a try.

I had reservations about the bottom button for the same reasons. I didn't think it would be very ergonomic and was afraid that I wouldn't be able to stand it up unlocked. The latter quite possibly would have been a deal breaker for me. But I got it anyway (actually, I got the V3 first) and fell in love with the bottom button almost immediately. I was genuinely surprised at how natural it feels to use a bottom-button device. I never would have thought.

And you can stand it up on its end unlocked.

for me, it's been quite natural and comfortable using the bottom button...

... it won't stand up on it's end like an eGo...

Since I initially posted, the Icon has been terrific...

Word of warning on the cannon drip tips...
I have bought three black and two clear...
Both clear ones eventually bit the dust - they got super hot... cooled down too quick and broke in the same place... near the base...
I got about a month out of both of them... I believe they'd both still be alive had I been a bit more responsible.

The black ones are made of a different kind of plastic... and one hasn't declined in performance...
Still can't use anything but the Cannons on my 306's...
