e-cig mods and 4.8 - 5.0v batteries

Seems I've read somewhere, that there is a battery out that is in this range. If so, is there a mod, such as the Buzz Pro, Provape, or any other reasonably priced manufactured 3.7v mod out there that these can be used in for 5v's?

MadeVapes makes one, but its an NiMH stack that is the same size as a 18650.

www.electronicstix.com has them as well. The cheapest 3.7 mod I can think of right away is the silver bullet or a rough stack. Anything that takes an 18650 will work.

Don't forget to grab a charger. There should be one just for this battery. I have been using them for a few days with my SB and they work well. Oddly the first night I took one off of the charger (light never turns green as it is modded) it was pushing 5.8 volts. Not sure why it was this high. Nice thing is I can share cartos with my wife who likes regular res and get a good vape off of them at the wattage I prefer!!!

Yeah you shouldnt let your batteries charge that high. It will damage them and they will die early on you. Get a new charger.

According to the company I bought them from you have to use the modded charger for the 18650 size batteries. They say to leave them on for 6 hours but I have keeled it back to 5 and that seems to work really well and put me right at 5 volts.

You shoudnt have to use a modded charger, madvapes carries one specificly for the NIMH batteries.

That is the same one that Electronicstix carries. If you look at it, it is a modded 18650 charger.

Just notice at madvapesl, which is the same that electronicstix carries, it says it charges a 4.8 battery to 5.8 volts after 5-6 hours of charging. Did not see that before.

I spoke to Jason at Electronicstix on Monday. He is having some new chargers built for these batteries that will shut off correctly and charge two at a time. He hopes to have them in stock in a couple of weeks.

I just used one of these batts and charger for the first time today in my Phidias. I think I like vaping at 5v as opposed to 6v. But I too was a bit worried when the light never turned green but the batts were reading 5.8v fresh off the charger. Also, they were pretty warm to the touch. I dont think I'll be taking any chances leaving these on the charger while I'm gone.
