Most of the gas stations and convenience store brands I have seen are low quality , "no name" brand disposables procured through their grocery supply service. These people buy and bulk, have no real knowledge of vaping and pass these on through the supply chain to the stores in their order books.

+1. They're pretty bad.

That having been said, a Blu disposable from my local grocery store was enough proof of concept to get me to step up to a good model, so there's that. It tasted like burning electrical wire and hair (or what I imagine those would taste like), but I already knew there were better flavors out there.

If I'd tried it without knowing anything at all, I probably wouldn't have continued.

generally anything at a gas station is junk. some of units sold at pharmacies and walmart and places like that are decent, like blu for example. they aren't the best but they are good enough to quit smoking with and are usually comparably priced to real cigarettes (maybe a tad more expensive). a typical gas station disposable costs about $8 and is realistically equal to about 8 cigarettes. the liquid in them isn't very good, they run out quickly and they are a bad deal.

smoke shops usually have okay ones also. don't get me wrong, they aren't good, they aren't a good value and you're better off putting those funds toward something else but $20 for a basic kit and $10-$15 per 5 pack of refill cartos isn't horrible. i would suggest if you do buy anything this is not a disposable that you keep all empty cartos as you will likely want to refill them when you gain more experience and start buying your own liquid.

okay, I think I get the picture. Thanx for the info. :)
This is something that needs to be changed. We can't have e-cigarette image ruined by the greedy a..holes, who are in this for a quick buck.

All new innovations that lead to online sales tend to attract this type of entrepreneur. To them it is all about money, they are not emotionally invested in the product or concept, nor does morality come into the concept or business plan.

Never happen...I don't necessarily think they're greedy a holes necessarily (I know a guy who owns a convenience store and he's a good guy)...but it's just another product they can sell to them. I've actually talked to this guy about why he wouldn't carry eGOs or something and he just kind of looked at me like I was stupid. Basically, he told me, "It's a convenience store...everything is for convenience and disposable and I don't want to go around having to explain to every weirdo that walks in here to buy a Mt. Dew what a carto or atty is." Actually, it made sense to me when he put it like that.

To boot, I've never known anything sold at a gas station or convenience store to be of any sort of quality and/or good for you. I guess I just would never even think to purchase a PV or e-juice at a convenience store.

ya good point. the best you could hope for is that they would do their research and try to carry basic kits and disposables that will at least give you the most bang for your buck. but they do need to remain inexpensive and user friendly.

^^^A lot of it also comes down marketing and distribution. My convenience store friend has never been approached by a rep from, say... Joyetech or anything...not even Blu. When I was in the liquor store/package business, it really came down to distribution reps selling and marketing their product to the individual store/franchise; we didn't actively go out to find particular products/research, etc...the reps bring it to us and if it seems like it'll sell for a profit, we buy it. It works similarly for gas stations and convenience stores. I'll have to check with my friend, but my guess is that he has between 3 and 5 distributors that he works with and they bring him everthing...who knows...maybe the coca-cola distributor here is also distributing the cheapy e-cigs...I know they do a lot more than just coca-cola.

Actually I think some like the Blu aren't bad for what they do. Sure a Blu sucks majorly to most of us, but I made a post about vaping on my "home base forum" (we call it mother, it's most of our first message boards it dates back to the 90's and i've been a member since 2001) very recently, and I talked 2 guys into trying ecigs again. Well one had a crappy unit before and it didn't get him to convert, and another has been successfully for 2 years now. I got both of them to order a Kgo kit, a drip tip, a bit of juice from the Hoosier site, and some Rawr juice(which I think is perfect for a new vapor since their tobacco flavors are to DIE for!). So obviously the Blu does work for some. I couldn't believe he had been using it for 2 years with not a single stinky!

I talked to my local tobacco shop owner once if he was interested in selling KGOs. He said he could only sell whatever his Supplier/vendor has. On another occasion when I bought some juice at my local tobacco shop the worker was eager to show me how to fill the carto, LoL. It's unfortunate that they only sell cheap low quality e-cigs products. I think tobacco shops specializes in tobacco products, not e-cigs.
