E-cig Spotted

Am watching After The Catch (Deadliest Catch roundup).....and do believe I briefly saw Josh, son of the late captain Phil, holding an ecig. Looked like the V4L type with gray ash when not in use, but can't be sure. First time I have ever seen an e-cig on TV that wasn't a news report.

I notice that since Phil died, they have cut back on showing all those guys smoking. They still do....but in past shows, they showed these guys chain-smoking. What a great boost for e-cigs and smoking cessation had Discovery channel taken a moment to mention the e-cig. Missed opportunity....

We need a "spot the e-cig" thread. We get some occasional news reports (not always good) but mainstream acceptance is still elusive.

The downside is that Josh is an official spokesperson for inlife e-cigs and products now. I don't care what brand people go with, but his message will have less impact if he is seen hawking a particular company. Just the way it is and can't be helped. *shrug*

Next week is a special 2-hour episode of Deadliest Catch where they cover Phil's death. A must watch for any Catch fan. And according to what I read in the news forum up top....Josh is scheduled to appear on the Jay Leno Tonight show on July 12th to discuss his father and perhaps the e-cig. Normally I don't watch Leno (more a Letterman type of guy) but will make a point to watch if this scheduling is correct and holds up.

Just SO sad.....I miss him. Watched last night - tears to my eyes. I agree, wish he was simply talking e-cigs and not one company.

fwm....yes, very sad. And Discovery should be up for an emmy with the way they are handling this particular event in the life of the program. Doing a fantastic job showing true feelings without going for the excessive tear-jerking that some real people shows might have stooped to. Kudos to Discovery Channel thus far.

Interesting. I agree, though, that promoting e-cigs, in general, would help The Cause a lot more. I visited inlife and was saddened to see the same 'you can become a rep' sales approach that initially turned me off to greensmoke and others. Darn. Still better than nothing, I suppose.

All the captains on the deadliest catch are awesome and some of the best in the entire world for navagating the Bearing sea and fishing in those waters, it truly is the deadliest job in the world one could have, my heart goes out to these boys that lost there dad he was one of the best of the best in the business and I wish these guys all the luck in the world for what they do to put food on our tables.

I chain smoked 2 packs a day in the NAVY, and it was really wet, and windy, except in the Persian Gulf.
