Hi everyone,

My household (father, hubby and I) have been vaping since early Feb. We have 510's.Tornadoes, and 901's. Dad had bladder cancer in Nov, resulting in the removal of his bladder. He was told it's crucial he give up his analogs (Kool). Since we knew it would be more difficult on him if hubby and I continued to smoke, I ordered 510's for all of us (after hours upon hours of research). I love my 510's and took right away to vaping, am down to 0-2 analogs a day. Hubby is taking a bit longer to catch on, but is enjoying vaping better on the auto 901, (says it makes his guitar playing easier) and is down to 5-10 analogs a day.

Dad.....well he isn't much of a talker. He uses his 510 in the main part of our house, but analogs in his bedroom. He's usually outdoors piddling on his tractor, up to 8 hours a day. He "says" he uses his 510, but not once have his batteries (not the mega or Tornado) ever died, and he does not charge them (I do it for them). Nor has he used the 5 carts that came with his kit yet, altho I have emptied a couple and filled them with Halo (can't remember which one now) juice, which he prefers. Even tho I do all of his maintenance (isn't much since he obviously isn't vaping much), he thinks the whole process is a pain in the azz. His biggest complaint is that he can't hold his e-cig in his mouth while operating his tractor (not a riding mower, a huge John Deere, we're country folk....). The flat tips helped him in this regard, but he says he'd like them if they were "softer" like a real cigarette ...., I guess?

So.....I ordered 510/808 adapters from Madvapes yesterday, and plan to purchase some cartomizers for him. Does anyone with cartos experience think this may help him? Of course, once I began shopping for cartos, I started reading lots of threads on the kr808 e-cigs, and am now questioning if I should just go all the way and get him a kr808?? And who from (for cartos and/or kr808 kits)? Who are the best US suppliers with regard to price and customer service? (Good value is key here as well. Daddy is a miser in his old age).

I've spent hours upon hours researching and seem to get overwhelmed when I go this route, never making a decision. I finally decided to just ask.
I would so so so so appreciate feedback on this!

So there's my life story....what's yours? Ha, sorry I really need to learn to communicate with less words.

They sell soft tip cartomizers for the 510 now, Health Cabin has them, Mad Vapes too I think. 510 Soft Tip Cartomizer In 6 Flavors [DISP510-002] - $7.00 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail

I recently bought a bunch of cartomizers and adaptors for the 510 battery. I find I really like the combination. The size feels right, the draw is firmer than either the 510 or the KR8, and the flavour very strong. Vapour production is good, but I judge this by "does it produce as much as a cigarette". Definitely worth a try in my opinion.

It even hangs in my mouth, hands free, very nicely.

Do these cartomizers have any tendency to burn inside?

I don't think that cartos - or anything, for that matter - are going to convince anybody who doesn't want to be convinced. You need to find out why he is not using his PV, he already has, IMO, the best out there. (Given the burned-filling-problem, I'd not exactly recomment cartos, either.)

Maybe he doesn't like the taste. Maybe he thinks he can't handle the technical side. Maybe he just doesn't like such new-fangled stuff. You need to find out what exactly the problem is, before you look for a solution.

You know, Alex is right. I have a friend who I have twice tried to switch to ecigs, just is NOT ready. I taught her all about it, she said, "sure, I'll try it." She returned one back to me and the other is sitting on her dresser. She will come to me when she is ready.

    Thanks for your replies everyone!

I don't know much about cartomizers at all, but think I'm going to give them a whirl for Daddy. Madvapes shipped the adapters today. I 'spose I'll order blank cartos and fill those for him with the menthol Halo that he likes so well. Gonna try the regular cartos instead of the soft tip though, and see what he thinks of those.

Rockalot, if this doesn't work, next step is your suggestion on the V4L shorty auto batt.

Sheep, thanks much for the link to the soft tips....if they were in the US, I'd probably go ahead and order those, but since there's nothing else I need from HC, the shipping would make the cost too high. (Madvapes doesn't have them, sadly.)

    THANKS SO MUCH!

Really hoping this works for you .

Please don't give up....maybe show him some of the mod's here on the forum and see if he might see something he want's to try out.

Tell him there are mod's that have a longer battery life, something sturdy for that tractor ridin'.

ALso...it may be the eliquid....he may not have found something he really likes.

Saying a prayer he finds something he likes. Good luck !

Janie, the shortie batteries with cartomizers really do (as close as you can get, anyhow) resemble the smoking experience.

At the end of the day, at least you can say you tried, and that's pretty freaking awesome.

Also, on the topic of soft 510 cartomizers, I am pretty sure you can get them at LECIG.

They are US based, so that may be a better option.

Now, mod talk....I absolutely adore my BARTLEBY. It's a tiny box, and it comes USB ready. It just lasts forever, and is just, well, damn fun to play with.

There are TONS of options here, so feel free to ask as many questions as you want.
