Oh and no I was not aware of this at all twgbonehead. Thanks for bringing that info around my way though :D Now I'm actually kinda keen to jump onto mods..

ih8,

Start by looking at "regulated mods". Something like the Innokin MVP20 or the eleaf istick. (Perhaps these should be called "PV's").
I'm pretty sure that with the kind of head you are using, these are a much better choice than a "mech mod" (battery in a tube with a switch). I have the MVP V2 (the 11-watt version) as well as the istick. Both great, with different advantages and drawbacks, but I would recommend either as a great choice. Either of these will take the head you're currently using, as they are ego/510 threaded (which means they take either one).

The head you are using is ego-threaded. This means that the battery has threads on the outside, the head has the threads on the inside. If you find something that is only 510-threaded, you can use something like this to turn it into ego threads:
$3.38 510 to eGo Adapters for E-Cigarette (5-Pack) 5-pack at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

(with 510, the battery is threaded on the inside, mating with a head that's threaded on the outside).

the reason I think it is the battery? ... the symptoms are similar to a dying battery.

and, the battery is the item that is supposed to die ... the charger OTOH, should technically not stop working.

WillyZ (See, I do read other threads!)

Many of these cheap USB chargers are really very unreliable. It certainly could be true that the battery is dead, however the fact that he said "I can charge it for a couple of seconds, and then get a really good hit off of it" makes me think that it is either the charger, or perhaps the circuitry in the battery, rather than the battery itself (although if it's the circuitry in the battery, that's pretty much the same as a dead battery from a practical point of view).

But I certainly would suspect the charger, even though that's the part that's not "supposed" to die!

2 months sound about right for any ego style stick with a lipo in it imho that's about all they've ever lasted me with heavy use. For what people keep paying for those and anything like an istick, mvp or any other mod with an internal non serviceable battery I always recommend something with a replaceable battery, and of course as zioDman said; backups for your backups. Maybe even just a nice usb passthrough for when all else fails.

So I took it to the electronics repair shop and they couldn't find any fault within the charger and are blaming the fault on the battery. I already have a new charger on the way here now but in case that doesn't work I was wondering....

What kind of battery is usually used in these starter kits?? I know they're not meant to be replaceable, but the guys at the store took apart my e cig with ease and said if I could find another battery then it should be able to get up and running again without a doubt.

So yeah. Any ideas on what voltage, type and size??
