I can tell by the avatars that there are plenty of bikers out there. I would really love to hear from you on how you like the e cigar when you are riding. I'm thinking about getting the hubby one for father's day but I want to hear your opinions on it.

I would also love to hear from people even if they don't ride. Thanks in advance!

Hi Jules, I don't know anything about the ecigars but I do believe that anything we use while riding should not have an automatic switch. I ride a 1957pan and for sure it is much to noisy and viberates. As I understand it, this would be turning on the battery and burning parts up. Someday when I'm rich I'll have one of those new fangled Harleys with electric start and shock absorbers. LMAO. I've been sayin that for 25yrs and now I spend all my money on ecigs and building my stash so I guess I'll be ridin this old hardtail for awhile yet! best to ya, dawn

Good advice. Noise and even wind can activate many units. Dr. Jim Loi wrote on this forum about six months ago that he rigged a plastic tube from his e-cig mouthpiece, so he could suck on the tube while cycling. The cig stayed in his pocket, but the tube was nearby, like a drink tube for endurance race car drivers.

I suppose it depends if you wear a helmet or not. I do (full face) so a hose is the only way for it to work. But that's really not much good because when you exhale you fog up your visor! Plus there is the fumbling around with pushing the button on a manual. While driving with one hand is not a problem, if a dog are something ran in front of you at the wrong moment it could be disastrous.
So I must advocate the old method, pull over, have a smoke, and then go on your way.

I Think The Cigar on A Bike Is Only Good When Completely Stopped. I Use The Dura-C and Or Yeti Manual Bat Versions On My Bikes, I Can Take A Quick Hit Almost Anytime I Can Free A Hand Up. Even If I Was To Drop, Fumble Or Loose It, It Would Not Be As Bad As A Cigar. I Have lanyards On Them So No Big Deal. I Put A Lanyard On My Cigar But Is Kinda Clunky / Big, and A little Heavy So Its Not Comfortable.

Now That I Got The Janty Stick, I Put A Neck Lanyard On It and I Went For A Spin Yesterday. Yeah It Worked Really Well, And It Does Not matter If U Drop It Cuz Its On The Lanyard! Being The Manual Janty Stick Version No Worries Of It Ever Going Off By Itself In The Wind.

I had not even given the noise/vibration thing a thought. Very valid point. My very first ride after my wreck was on a hardtail, lol Everyone always thought I was a little nutty but when I got on the hardtail just 5 months after my pelvic reconstruction I think I confirmed it for them, lol

Safety for us is always the main factor, especially after what all we've been thru the last few years. For right now I would only be the passenger and hubby would take care of the rest. I don't forsee any long trips in our near future that dont' involve a trailer, lol We may have to get the guys at teh sop come up with a mod for him so he keeps his hands free to operate the bike.

Wouldn't contemplate vaping while riding, but I hope the things will be safe in the luggage? I want to take along a couple of e-cigars when we're biking through Scotland, hopefully in September.

I pull over and have a smoke to many things can go wrong smoking and riding.

-Dan

We always did that when we were smoking analogs unless we were doing something like a toy run and were going really slow.

The next bikes we get are going to be a trykes since neither one of us can hold up a 2 wheel bike since our wreck. But I think we are just going to keep doing it the old fashioned way and pull over to have a vape. Besides, it will give my old broken hips a break, lol

ive never seen any riders smoke (with the full face helmet and all)

but I ride a scooter (i know...i like to laugh at myself too) and being as it's one of those half helmets i can easily vape. But I only do this, along with taking sips of my morning joe, at stop lights. Maybe not the safest thing to do, especially with all the crazy speedfreaks driving in the city, but I do it anyway.

i take pride in my multi-tasking.

We dont use full face helmets. Whenever I was riding behind him I could actually smoke. I had a tube that my analog went into and a butane lighter so I could smoke away and when we had to stop for a traffic light I would pass it up to him. Worked out pretty good that way. But more often than not, we would pull into a convenience store and get a bottle of water or something and have a smoke.
