When I first heard about e-cigs a couple of weeks ago, I was blown away with this thing. I was skeptical at first that it wouldn’t be like smoking a real cig, but boy was I wrong. I’ve been smoking for about 19 yrs. now and this e-cig thing is FREAKING BADA$$!!!

I’ve quit “cold turkey” before and it was hard, but I have done it a couple of times. Ever since I got my DSE-901b I haven’t needed an analog since then and to be truthful don’t really want one at all. I really believe this is the next revolution in smoking….PERIOD!!! And, not some gimmick.

I really think the e-cig is the best tech invention since the DVR. At least personally for me.

So, what is your opinion on the best tech innovation before the E-CIG?

Hi posaune glad to hear you doing so well on e-cigs :)

I think the best tech leap (something to do with gadgets :thumb:) has to be broadband from dial up connections, It hard to imagine now how bad it was on a 56k max connection!

Hi Mufftrix,

Thanks for your input. Well......high speed is really not an invention but more of an improvement in only one aspect. The DVR had so many features over the VCR that I had to give it a technological breakthrough.

Now the internet is a good one to mention but has been around longer then most people know.

I take your point but most advances are just better solutions of old ideas? I see what you mean with dvr in difference of media etc and got to let you have that one, but in the end it still just a improvement of recordable media albeit in a different format :) and i`m still sticking with broadband :thumb:

Another has to be HDTV you got to let me have that one?

Ok posaune we will agree to disagree on broadband then

Just me and gadgets spose haha! I overpaid for sky HD just to get it first now just got a HD camcorder that no doubt will be half price next year! had a xbox360 to get HDDVD then find out it was like betamax and vhs but luckily sold before market fell to pieces now got ps3 for blu-ray rips :)

Another one is mobile phones but that just same analog to digital

What about digital cameras? (yes I had one of first pieces of junk :))

I believe the thing that changed our lives most was the PC. My Remington typewriter would not communicate with anybody or play music and buy things... "All things digital" were then just a natural gradual development.

So, e-cig is the best tech invention since the Personal Computer introduced I think by the international business machines:)

I believe that cell phones with all of their annoying traits are the most important. They save lives and allow people to communicate in ways they never could have done before. A couple of years ago, my town flooded, and all roads out were shut down. Finally, a small access road was opened, and I had to go to work. It was dark, 5 degrees, and snowing. Long story short, I slid into an unmarked flooded spot, and my car started to sink. Since the area had been evacuated, there was no one to help. I crawled onto the window and sat there, first screaming, then dialing frantically for help. There were no towers around, but somehow I got through. It took over an hour but the rescue squad finally found me, and I was taken by boat to safety. Shortly after I was rescued, my car had sunk up to the steering wheel. After that, I bought phones for everyone in my family. I also think of the kids at Columbine who called for help, the people above the hijacked plane on 911 who called to say goodbye, and the many many times that drivers in distress have gotten help they would not have gotten without the phone. Long distance calls were a luxury that few could afford before cell phones. Now, people all over the world can keep in touch with family....an amazing invention IMO

For a hardcore analog smoker (like I use to be), the e-cig has to be at the top of the list right now. None of the other tech advances previously listed in this thread ever helped me to quit smoking. I can now move on with my life without the worry of tobacco killing me. Broadband is cool, DVR is cool, but being smoke free is so cool that I don't even have the words to do it justice. Thank God for the E-Cigarette!!!:thumb:
