Let's bring some life back to this thread. I was doing some archeological research on an old hard disk of mine, and found this long forgotten photo of myself. What do you think, my sweeties?

My cursory catching up has turned up a lot of things - mutiny, more board wars, awards, marriages, passings, .. man this really is a bloody huge community. -Mags
At some point I'm going to have to post "Adventures in Hospitalization" because I must've been a nightmare. Not because I didn't follow their rules but because I totally hijacked their journals and access since they wouldn't let me do much of anything else. Along with it I also started calling out all the bogus studies and the number of times a journal published an itty-bitty note saying some past major paper was proved bunk. Eventually I just got first-hand experience with something a lot of us know (I know Nate and I have discussed it) - the Medical field isn't immune to being fooled by charlatans.
How does this pertain to this thread? Well I was quite from vaping and nicotine cold turkey and that prompted an early argument but I let it go - I was struggling with far more basic things at that point. Later on though it came back up in the form of somebody offering, out of the blue, nicotine patches. This prompted a few weeks of social engineering to query every nurse, doctor, and med student that came within "PSST" distance of me.
And while I want to write up the notable conversations there were a few consistent currents:
-- Smoking was prohibited on the two main hospital campuses but a number of nurses, a few visiting doctors (the visiting is important, more lated), and some students all vaped. And flat-out hid and lied about it. Like it was contraband.
-- The nicotine only vs combustion debate isn't as clear cut as the old thread material some tried to force and re-force. And my own experience when I was allowed to vape for a brief period of two weeks backs that up. In particular my blood sugar and nerve damage were notably fluxored when I vaped for that brief period of time. On the other hand the naive suggestion patches would "fix" that didn't work either. Not a control but it is some anecdotal first-hand experience.
-- W/ that said I wasn't in the best of conditions at the time. So the follow-up controls will be easy to evaluate and even a few Doctors said it wouldn't be as noteworthy then. So they admitting ~something~ that was tickling the back of their minds.
Anyhow.. more later as I put my life back together, journal out things I don't want to forget, etc. -Mags

I haven't seen many of you around except for "Triple McMee" and my "Beneficent Benefactor" scs469!
I know many of us have moved on to tanks and gene's but I still have a great fondness for the DoD kit and scs was always a big supporter of my shows no matter which network I was on so I have much love for him and his lovely wife and the great little device that certainly made many peoples and my vaping life a whole lot simpler.
For that I want to say "Thank you scs"!

That's a great stache man - I forgot to say. It reminds me of being a kid in Iran and being given these old baseball cards from The States.
And I'll probably be vaping shortly because the pace of things has been aching for analogs again. On the upside my mind is working just fine w/ some memory problems during those nine months. On the downside I'm starting from nothing-nothing - so this'll be an interesting climb back up.
Hope the fires give you some break soon, what a mess. :-/

Thanks for the compliment re: the 'stache and the sentiments re: the fires. We've had 4 fires nearby already this year, but fortunately only one forced evacuation. I guess that's what I get for moving into an "urban-wilderness interface" area...
I've trimmed down my vaping gear substantially. I'm down to a Zenesis and Madman's VV prototype as a backup.

Thank you CB for the very kind remarks. Support is a two way street and so is the love. I have always appreciated your straight forward, take no prisoners, and no BS attitude especially when it comes to the subject of electronic cigarettes. We all know that with Cigar Babe WYSIWYG..very refreshing and what a huge asset to our community.
I am very excited to see this thread get some life back and to be able to touch base with friends that understand how important our cause is. It is great to hear from you all.
