Hi all,

only just heard about the e cigarette today and i want one....NOW!!!

I'm studying at the mo and as a result am smoking like a trooper, feeling like and smelling like crap.

i have questions;

  • Do you feel better smoking an e cig than normal? Normal smokes make me feel like death but i cant stop.
  • I want to get back into running but have too many things on my plate to stop smoking too, will my lungs feel cleaner / work better with an e-cig?
  • I think i read somewhere that they were banned in Australia, is this true?
  • I think i also read that some guy orders his from China. Can this be done? if so from where?
  • can someone recmemend a starter kit that i can order rapido that will ship to Australia, i like a nice traditional tobacco taste, i used to smoke French Gaulois (spelling?) and Gitanes in the UK but i cant find them in Oz, probably not a bad thing seeing as they're pretty deadly.
Any help would be good as i like to smoke but I'm not too keen on dying.

Thanks all.

karl.

Hello and Welcome!

You will definitely feel better after switching to vaping.

You will get some lung capacity back instantly but the real effects will show in the long run. you will run better as you don't have the associated tar, carbon monoxide, and other crap associated with traditional cigarettes strangling you.

I also heard something about E-cigs being banned in Aus but i'm sure there's some Aussies on here somewhere who can tune in and let you know how they get what they need.

Yup you can order from China if you like but you run the risk of getting knock-offs. I'd recommend ordering from sites that are tried and tested by ECF users.

I will have to recommend the tornado starter kit from totally wicked. i believe they ship to Aus and the owner is a Brit i believe so you may want to use the British site to order since it's a bit closer and probably cheaper to ship.

I'll be in Sydney in a month or so. Northern Beaches area. PM me if you have any more questions.

G'Day mate!
welcome to ECF!
We have quite a happy flock on the AU section here, you will be able to read through their posts, but can't reply until you have over 5 posts, so start talking, LOL!
1) yes, indeed!
2) yes, quite a bit!
3) no, not banned
4) Easily recommended rig would be the Joye Ego and since you are camped at the desk a lot, suggest a USB PT (place your cursor on the underlined abbreviations)
5) mostly, buying a rig from one place and buying juice from another source is what happens, since everyones taste is different its hard to just say Get This and have you be as thrilled as I am...
6) there is no cure for dying, but it is recommended to stave it off as long as possible!
Cheers!

As far as I was able to tell, ecigs are still banned in Australia, I'm sorry to say. I would suggest contacting LibertyFlights.co.uk, which is a UK based vendor, and asking for more up to date info. Whether ordering from China is an option for you I couldn't say. I won't even do it from the USA because of extended delays, high shipping costs and the occasional customs seizures I've heard about. Also, If there is a problem, I'd much rather deal with a vendor on this side of the distribution chain. Hope you can get some more positive answers.

E-cigs are not banned. You can buy hardware and zero nicotine liquid in Australia. Nicotine liquid and cartridges are not allowed to be sold there. But my understanding is you can import this from abroad for your own personal use. China suppliers I've used myself and would recommend are HealthCabin, Heaven Gifts and Eastmall. EM seem to be having some quality issues with their recent LR atomizers but otherwise they are OK. I've also heard Best E-cig are reasonable.

Oh, it's the nic that is banned, not the hardware. I stand corrected. One question, if it is illegal to sell the nic in Au, how is it legal to import it? Shouldn't a retail vendor then be allowed to import it for resale to consumers?

I'm not in Oz so I'm not sure of the full ins and outs, but my understanding is it's any sort of re-selling of nicotine liquids which is prohibited. The Chinese firms like Heaven Gifts give warnings about potential customs issues with sending liquids to some countries like Canada and Denmark but not Australia - http://www.heaven-gifts.com/page-Tax+Related+Issues.html

Firms like ECIGS WAREHOUSE AUSTRALIA (E.W.A) - Home - E Cigs are based in Australia but note they do not sell any nicotine products (kits supplied with blank or zero nic cartridges etc).

Hiya Karl,
Welcome to ECF :)
I am in the ACT. I purchased an eGo mega starter kit Joye eGo MEGA Kit(900mA Manual battery in 10 colors) [Joye eGo] - $55.00 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail from health cabin and got it within a week. That kit comes with 2 of everything and the 900MaH batteries that last about 12 hours.

Use EMS shipping as the other option is really slow.

As nicotine here is a scheduled drug, you can't buy or sell it here but you can import enough nicotine for a 3 month supply. Whatever that is. I've had customs look at my orders but never hold them.

To start off get some 10ml bottles of Dekang juice, or order from the USA for decent quality juices.
I stopped smoking the stinkies as soon as I got my eGo 2 months ago. These things do work!!

Good luck mate.

Yes you will feel like you did before you started smoking in no time.
E cigs aren't banned here and the nic juice is only banned from sale but you're allowed to import it for personal use.
I'd recommend the Riva starter kit from hereEm-RIVA - Em-Riva - E Cigz Ecigs E cigs Australia Electronic cigarette Joye 510 , DSE 905 , 901 Atomizers Batteries Blue Foam Mega Batteries They're in Aus so it's quick to arrive. You're Juice is best off bought from the US however as only 0 nic juice is available here, there are many good vendors available that will ship worldwide, check out the juice reviews section and go from there, I make my own though so can't help you there.
