Hello everybody.

E-cigarret: eVic VTC Dual with two batteries.
tank and coil: smok TFV12 Cloud Beast King - V12-T12 coil.

I've recently bought an e-cigarret and I've gotten this problem.
So long story short, it can't go higher than 81.3w, but the max range with two batteries is 150w. I'm frankly new to this, so don't know much about it, but can't find anything similar to this either, so... :)

If I understand you problem correctly, you have a regulated mod that is supposed to be able to go up to 150 watts, but its only going up to 81?

What batteries specifically are you using (brand and model number)?

With a regulated mod, the batteries must be able to put out enough amps for the mod to reach its full wattage potential. 18650 batteries all have different specifications (mAh capacity and amp rating). If the batteries you are using don't have enough amps they won't let your mod reach its full potential.

-If you use a good quality 15 amp CDR battery like the Samsung 30Q or Sony VTC6, then you are good up to 45 watts per battery; 90 watts using two; 135 watts for three batteries.

-If you use a good quality 20 amp CDR battery like the LG HG2 or Samsung 25R then you are good for 60 watts per battery. If using a 2-battery regulated mod, you're good for 120 watts as you have two batteries. If you are using a 3-battery mod, you're good for 180.

-If you use a single 25 amp CDR battery like the Sony VTC5A, then you are good for 75 watts per battery, 150 watts for two batteries, and 225 watts with three.

-If you use a single 30 amp CDR battery like the LG HB6 you are good up to 90 watts; with a pair of 30 amp CDR batteries you could safely do 180 watts.

WATTAGE PER SINGLE BATTERY on REGULATED MOD:
(wattage doubles using 2 batteries; triples using 3 batteries)

Up to 45W:
Samsung 18650 30Q, 3000 mah 15 amp CDR
Sony 18650VTC6 3000mAh 15 amp CDR
Up to 60W:
LG 18650HG2 3000mah 20 amp CDR
LG 18650HE2 2500 mah 20 amp CDR
Samsung 18650-25R, 2500 mah 20 amp CDR
Sanyo UR18650NSX, 2500 mah 20 amp CDR
Sony 18650VTC5, 2600 mah 20 amp CDR
Sony 18650VTC4, 2100 mah 23 amp CDR
AW 18650 3000 mah 20 amp CDR
Up to 75W:
LG 18650 HD4 2100 mah 25 amp CDR
LG 18650 HD2 2000 mah 25 amp CDR
Sony 18650VTC5A, 2500 mah 25 amp CDR
Up to 90W:
LG18650HB6 1500mah 30 amp CDR
LG18650HB2 1500mAh 30 amp CDR
LG18650HB4 1500mAh 30 amp CDR

On the bright side there’s no actual reason to go beyond about 70 watts anyway. It doesn’t actually help, unless you want to competition cloud chase. For example my car has a theoretical top speed of 145mph. I have never EVER driven it above about 70mph. Nor have 99% of anyone whose ever bought one. It will go from 0-60 and 60-0 reasonably quickly which is why I bought it. The actual top speed though? Not important.

Mods will have an amp output limit. Some will not let you go above that amp output limit on the screen. The other will go above it on the screen, and throttle it back when the button is pushed and not give any indication of this on the screen. It sounds like yours is set up the first way I mentioned.

Usually, that advice is all well and good.

But the tank and coils he is using are these: SMOK TFV12 Cloud Beast King - V12-T12 coil (recommended best wattage range 130 - 200 watts)

Good lord. Yeek. I stand corrected I guess. Gonna need a triple battery mod for some of those coils I suspect. Every day I get more and more glad I don’t use drop in coils.

Ive used this coil in my tfv12. It uses up batteries fairly quickly. You gotta use at least the min of 130w to get full performance, anything higher than 150w tastes funky to me anyway. The coil and tank WILL get very warm after a couple 3 or 4 chain vapes. The clouds. There will be massive clouds if ya got the lungs for it. Currently, im using the t8 coil in mine. Still gets a bit warm (hot) after a few vapes. My voopoo drag is kicking it at 130watts though. I do love this tank. And the drag is pretty awesome too. I must publicly apologize to my tpriv for benching it. I promise to wipe the dust off you and never fear, ill pick you back up again soon. There, all done. Vape on...

After a quick google search, your mod will only output 25 amps, and will not let you set your wattage any higher when it reaches the 25 amp limit, no matter what batteries are installed.

@Saxinux if @Zaryk research ^^^ is correct you'll need to use a coil with a resistance of .24 ohms to use the full wattage of your mod. You may be able to use other resistances but I'm not sure if your mod also has a cap on the max voltage. Also, pay close attention to the valuable battery info posted above by @Baditude and make sure YOUR batteries are capable of safely providing the max wattage you intend to use.

Lol, some of those are ridiculous for drop in coils. o_O

I would think most people needing coils like this would already be using a rebuildable, maybe that's just me. Then again, I can't comprehend (personally) needing a coil capable of that. We all know how these guys love to over-rate their coils though. I'll be you can get a whole 12-18 hours between replacements at some of those wattages.

Maybe my age is starting to show. Where are all the Kanger 0.5ohm SSOC coils that go up to 25w? When I was your age.....

Sorry to hear about your equipment. It sounds to me like you may need a different tank, unless the tank has a drop in RBA optional deck (I don't know if the prince does). It would give you more control over your resistance, although I also tend to think that post engineered build decks are one of the most difficult ways to learn to build and install coils. It's not impossible, mind you, but the decks tend to be small and harder to work with, although some folks do just fine with them.

Best of luck,

Anna

Welcome and glad you joined.
That fine print has fooled many. If you get that super Mod/tank, might like to read:
