I saw my very first e-cig commercial this morning on Fox news network.
Was for the Vaporette, which according to posts around here isn't exactly choice, I know that, but it felt really great to finally see a real honest to goodness commercial.
I do have one problem, the Vaporette is being advertised as a "Stop-smoking device", not a good idea I don't subscribe to that at all. Also, you can use it "everywhere", few other kinks.
Perhaps would be useful to contact ECA to see if they have any input on Commerical Advertising.
As anyone else seen ads on cable or satellite stations, or main-stream media, let us know!!
EDIT:I have written to ECA regarding ads, will post if I get any reply.

Reply from eca regarding Advertising Protocol:

kathy,

thanks for your comments. They are very valid points. The company
who's avertisement you spoke of is not a member of the eca and
therefore, we have no influence with them. Any company that joins our
association mist certify that they will make no claims whatsoever,
that includes any smoking cessation claims as well.

We market our products to committed smokers only and as a smoking
alternative only. There have been no clinical trials to prove this
device as a smoking cessation product, nor have they been approved by
the fda to be marketed as such. We also require our members to take
substatial precautions to ensure that kids don't get access to
their products as well.

Best,

There, that could explain the questions, a little. They do seem aware of this kind of practice, perhaps a visit to Vaporette website can be fruitful. Will keep watching.
