I used to work in a warehouse where vaping was banned after i converted one of the office guys to vaping, he was desperate to get off cigarettes because it was affecting his ability to play football (proper football ;) "Soccer" *cringe*), shortly after he placed his order on the website i recommended to him, me and him were yanked into a side office. I was told i could be fired for encouraging employees to smoke... yeah, and vaping was banned on the property.

So instead i started going outside to vape and once again they threatened to fire me for wasting time going outside to vape, if i wasn't smoking i wasn't allowed outside during business hours (... right?). Then a few months later i was stood at a bench one morning doing some assembly, got yanked into the office and fired without warning.

I should have p***ed on the uniform before i gave it back.
Now i'm working in field sales in a shopping centre/mall and my employer encourages me to vape because i look happier and healthier than i did on cigarettes and that's good for sales :)

did you notice they banned them with out any input from you or other vapers.
usually policy changes concerning work place behavior would at least be posted
for comment before the ban is put in any way.unless some really urgent makes
it necessary like,no more ax murdering your co-worker.
looks like a typical ANTZ tactic.there can be no discussion of the facts.
must be done behind closed doors as not to rile those people who are to stupid
to understand whats good for them.

One thing that does upset me is technically we have to be 150 feet from the premise for e cigarettes and only 50 for analogs, but I get it.

150 ft vs 50 ft for analogs, that is absurd!!!

I used to vape in my office trailer to do computer work, my co-worker (Non smoker) felt that I should vape outside instead of spreading the vape in the office. So I grouped all 4 of who worked in the same office trailer to take a consensus. They requested that I should vape outside the office. They were unconfortable with the "unknowns" in the vape liquid, I tried to explain that it is only PG/VG thats already in our food flavoring; however, I do smoke 4mg/ml Nic Juice. Out of courtesy, I vape outside the trailer and never ever vape in the main office (our hr person carries a pretty heavy ban stick). I vape right outside the office trailer, but 150 ft? That is wrong!

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. As long as I'm not in view of customers no one cares. In fact my boss prefers it, this way I can get my nicotine without leaving the kitchen. Now since we are a franchise corporate could ban them, but enforcement would me my responsibility so I would just ignore it but for the 10 days a year my corporate rep is here.

I've been vaping at work for over 2 years... Today an HR person saw me take a drag (didn't even blow any vapor out, held it in as she came by my desk) and asked what it was.

When I told her, she had sort of a stunned look on her face and a few hours later my boss calls me into his office stating that they're no longer allowed in the building.

It is what it is I guess, but it pisses me off. Anyone else have their vaping rights taken away? I know it's probably legal to do so, but damn...

wow. that totally sucks. a couple of people at my office know/assume that i stealthily vape at my desk. i'm the only smoker (now vapor) out of an office of about 30 people ... so i used to be really self-concious about going out on smoke breaks when i smoked analogues cuz i know people could smell it on me when i came back. but when i switched to e-cigs i was excited and explained to my colleagues what an e-cig is and how it's a much better alternative to tobacco, and that there's no smell. a couple people asked me i vape at my desk and i replied in mocked astonishment, "Me? How dare you even imply such a thing." but yeah, i vape at my desk all the time and blow the vape downwards so i don't have clouds circling around me. one of the reasons i still use CE4 clearomizers is that they are alot quieter than the glassomizers i normally use when i'm not at work. i figure as long as i'm discreet about it nobody will care.
