As others have suggested, the "cure" for most of these symptoms is probably something as simple as drinking a little water to re-hydrate your throat that can get dried and irritatable from the PG/VG vapor. Also keep in mind that you don't really even need to inhale the vapor into your lungs to get the nicotine the way you can with smoke. The pharmaceutical grade nicotine used in e-liquid is not readily absorbed by lung tissue, but is absorbed more slowly through the upper respiratory system: This is probably why some e-cig users have a hard time giving up the "first cigarette of the day" because they are looking for the faster delivery mechanism. It's also pretty common to vape a bit too much nicotine at first because it takes a bit of time to get used to the difference in absorption rate.
If this describes you and you're having a hard time avoiding smoking occasionally, I would suggest trying other smoke-free alternatives like Swedish-style snus, dissolvables or other products (including some experimental new "whole tobacco alkaloid" e-liquids) that might deliver the nicotine and other chemicals like MAOI's that some smokers seek--without, obviously, any of the harmful effects of smoking.
