It occured to me last night that although I am using an ego twist I can't help wonder what I may get from a higher end device.
I have NOT found my sweetspot yet. Nor have I found a decent juice. (Still experimenting with DIY)

I will say that everything I've tried so far with using vision clearomizers seems burnt at anything close or over 4 V on the twist.
Tried lr and 2.5-2.9 Ohms. Just got a Vivi Nova kit but waiting for the right juice to test that.

If using something like a silver bullet or Lavatube WILL one get a different taste/result with a better unit?
My brain says that volts/oHms and power are simply that BUT..........
Can't help but wonder.

Vision clearos and the Vivi Nova both tend to perform better at lower voltages compared to filler stuff cartos and atomizers with the same resistance. If you are satisfied with the quality of your vape using the clearos, the eGo Twist is a great device and you don't need more bells and whistles. Just set the voltage to where it tastes and performs to your liking and don't worry about higher voltages.

Then again, if you want to collect a variety of devices, attys, and cartos, and your budget allows for it, there's nothing wrong with that either.

Okay, well let's start with some simple facts:

The Silver Bullet is a simple mod that for all intents and purposes is an unprotected, all-mechanical device. It will not give you VV capability in its' stock form- so I wouldn't recommend one of these if you're looking to "dial in" voltage to find your sweet spot (although, they're an excellent mod, precisely because of how simple and well-built they are!)

The Lava tube, assuming you're talking about the newest revision(s) of it (there are two companies making them), will do a few things for you that the Twist will not:

-You'll have a screen with the voltage readout on both the L-Rider and YJ versions; On the Young-June version, you also will be able to read the real-time resistance of your current atty/carto, and you'll have a battery-level readout.

-You will have the ability to replace your batteries and re-use the unit when your current battery goes bad.

-You will be able to go up to a max setting of 6v on either version in .1v increments, and the units come with a switch that is designed to handle up to a 4-amp load.

So basically, you will have a step up from your current setup. Will getting one of these devices actually improve your experience, though? In my opinion, yes and no; If you're looking for something with more adjustability, these will give you that option. They're a bit more fine-tuned. However, they are not calibrated as well as something like the Provari, and the "better" (subjective, some will say) of the two mods (the YJ version) uses a deep PWM, which may actually make it *harder* for you to find a sweet-spot on it. The manner in which it fires the atty/carto actually makes it seem to run "hotter" than it actually is, and I've personally had problems getting certain coils working well on it, including the Novas. So when it comes down to it, your brain IS right: there ARE differences between your Twist and larger VV devices; However, the differences may not be what you thought they were.

If you're really looking for the ultimate in power control, I would have to recommend the Provari, simply because of its accurate readings and its durability. The downside to getting one is obviously the price- but if you want more control over your vape, it would be a great choice.
