I'm new to vaping, and have been reading through
these discussion areas quite a bit.
I quit analogs a number of years ago.
Thought I'd try vaping just out of curiosity.
Well, I have now experimented with an E-Hooka.
It's an ultrasonic vaping machine.
I really enjoy it. Kind of like smoking a pipe.
Intake and savor the flavor without a full inhale.
Quite interesting and relaxing.
Thanks to the NO-NIC DIY RECIPE thread,
I'm really enjoying this.
I'll post photos as soon as I post enough messages.

Later,
Dave

I started with
Canning Jar (16 oz)
Plastic Lid
Ultrasonic Vaporizer
McDonald's Straw.
DIY NO-NIC Vaping Juice

The Ultrasonic vaporizer is from a "fog bowl".
It uses a ceramic disk to make vapor (fog)
from the water in the bowl.

I drilled 2 holes inthe plastic lid for the canning jar.
1 for the electrical wiring to enter.
1 for the straw I use to draw out the vapor.

Installed the fogger inside the canning jar
and ran the electrical out the hole. The
fogger even had a rubber seal for the wiring
(no leaks)

I mixed the following:
1 oz of VG
7 oz of Distilled Water
1/6th oz of Anise extract (McCormick's)
1/10th oz of Cinnamon extract (McCormick's)

Put that in the E-Hooka and used a McDonald's
Straw to draw out the vapor.

Sweet and flavorful. I smoke it more like a pipe
than a cigarette.
Draw in the vapor and enjoy the flavor

My plan is to modify the original by adding
a hose and mouthpiece for drawing out the vapor
and a fitting with a filter for the inlet of fresh air.

It kind of whistles when the straw is in the hole
right now.

Later,
Dave

BTW, this is a disclaimer. . . If anyone tries this experiment it is their own responsibility for what
happens. I am not responsible for the actions of
others. Do Not try this unless you are willing to
take full responsibility!

Added the hose and the inlet.
The inlet goes below the juice level for the bubbling effect.
I may add an aquarium bubbler to the end for better effect.
The juice seems to condensate in the hose a little,
but not too bad. probably would stick to NO-NIC fluid.
Would NOT:nah: want condensed NIC droplets getting to the mouthpiece on accident. Could be BAD!
(This is a warning!) NO-NIC FLUID ONLY!!

Slight vapor reduction, but not bad.
Flavor is still good and the hose is better for relaxing.

Dave

The"taste" of the hose does affect the flavor some.
I think I'll buy a smoking pipe and adapt the mouthpiece from that.
It's either that, or perfect my whittlin' skills on the front porch and make my own mouthpiece.

Dave

posts, and I can post a link to pictures.
It will be soon!

The vapor appears to condense back into a liquid
and run down the inside of the jar.
As far as I can tell, this leads to no wasted vapor.
If you don't use it, it turns back into juice.

That may be why the level doesn't appear to drop.
Only the vapor inhaled is removed from the device.:)

I may be to the point I can add pictures.

I'll try next message!

Dave

if these photos come through.

As you can see it is quite simple.
And I think very effective.
It seems to make vapor faster than I can
inhale it.
It may be enough for 2-3 people if I
add hoses.
But, no vapers around here to try it out with.

Dave

Here's a short video (I hope)

Don't know if this worked.

Thanks alot.

I figure total cost including the stuff to make the juice
is about $30.00 USD.

Nice and inexpensive.
I'm not sure how long the ultrasonic vaporizer will last, yet.
But I have left in on from about 8am to 11pm
for the last 3 days with no problems, yet.

The worst I can see is the vaporizer failing.
And I found out today that they can be rebuilt.
You just have to replace the ceramic disk.

I may have to remove it to see how dirty it is.
Something more to do.
OH well, that's cool.

I bought the Canning Jar & plastic lids at Walmart.
Air line at a local home improvement store (Menard's)
You could also use air line for aquariums. (preferably new)
Ultrasonic fogger came from a fog bowl I bought on clearance at walmart. With the Halloween season, you could find various decorations as a cheap source for the fogger.

I'll look on the internet for a good source.

I found a note regarding the use of glycol causing
problems with the foggers.

This was from a "halloween" site.

Ultrasonic Misters

I have been using VG and not PG and
have had no problems as yet with the fogger.

The report said glycol gummed up the ceramic disk and
caused the frequency to change resulting in no fog at all.

It also said to clean the disk with white distilled vinegar.
Sounds like a cheap solution to any developing problem.

Have been running the E-Hooka from 8am to 11pm for
five days now.
Day Five had a minor problem. . .very little output.

I tried running the unit in distilled water only, no change.
Used distilled white vinegar, no change.

Removed disk and cleaned inside of fogger and reassembled.

Everything is back to normal.

I don't think most people will run it the number of
hours per day I have, but it appears to need cleaning
about every 90 to 120 hours of use.
I would recommend once a week.
It's not a difficult job. Takes about 10 minutes.

Good to see you here Dan.

I'm not sure what kind of vapor the 12 jet will put out,
but if it's 12x what a single does it would be way too
much for a single person.

One oddity I have noticed is that the vapor, when inhaled,
does not exhale. Apparently, the vapor is fine enough
to just disappear.
This is unlike the E-cig I have. When you exhale with
that there is still quite a bit of vapor on the exhale.

Don't know if this is good or bad.
It may be the amount of VG being so low.
I smoke the E-Hooka like a pipe more than like a cigarette.

Later,
Dave
