Hello!

It's my first post here :) mods feel free to move this to appropriate section.

Question is in the title. Much if not most of the inhaled vapor is absorbed by or condensed back to liquid in lungs. Does it all go directly into the bloodstream, including the arome/taste additives, or is there a risk of some parts of the juice staying and eventually accumulating in the lungs?

Google didn't find anything useful so I thought I'd drop by to ask if anyone here knows better.

My lungs feel nice and clear after I quit smoking and started vaping. I no longer cough, so minimally nothing is accumulating that needs to be hacked up, in fact quite comparable to the times I quit cold turkey. At least what goes for me, if there were something wrong, I'd tune in on it right away. You always kinda know, as you do intuitively that cig smoking one day may well be the nails to your coffin.

It's really no different than inhaling vapor from a cold steam humidifier. Like the ones you'd put in a kids room. Unless you were vaping 24/7 there is no danger. Your lungs will express any excess moisture the same way they always do. A cough! The nicotine in the vapor is actually absorbed in your mouth and not your lungs. Nicotine does not normally pass through the membranes in your lungs but since it's the fastest way to your blood stream tobacco companies add a huge amount of chemicals to make that happen. It's one of the reasons cigarettes are so addictive and dangerous. "The more you know"

Very true! However, smoke particles are much much smaller than the particles that are produced by vaporizing liquid. Therefor, the nicotine is mainly absorbed through mucus membranes in your mouth rather than in your lungs. I'm giving you this opinion as a scientist, but NOT as an expert. Good luck!

i found the title rather amusing and i chuckled .. i have these questions too so if someone can give some exact information like.. how much PG/VG stuff is OK for the body ... i've seen a majority of people vape 18mg .. but i'm vaping 36mg .. at first it gets ur throat. The first day when I received my kit, i quickly went through the manual, loaded up the my CE4 cartomizer and took a long drag and I felt exactly the way when I smoked an analog for the first time .. I coughed hard lol ..

So what do the statistics say? how much VG/PG is ok for the body? Anyone?

adrkausshal, first puff I took was the same way. Also the first in the morning hits harder than throughout the day. When a friend asks about trying I let them puff like a regular analog instead of the long slow draw, this reduces the hard hit that I am used to. I started doing that after watching a few friends cough and gag when puffed low and slow. The nic level will hit your throat as will the PG % I started at 24mg 70/30, and have since moved to 24mg 50/50. less TH more vapor and a little less flavor which I compensate for by adding more flavoring when mixing. As for how much is safe? I vape 12-15 ml per day and still feel better than when I was smoking.

what type of stick do u use? and manual or automatic? i believe you are using manual battery because automatic does not live up to the expectations, my opinion. As to the proper way to vape, I believe, press and hold the battery button for a few seconds and keep the ecig close to your mouth. as you begin feeling the sweetness, begin sucking on it lol .. nothing but pure juice hits the throat :D

sorry for taking it a bit off topic, I'm right now researching on vegetable glycerin and I'm already amazed at the information I'm finding. Check it on wikipedia .. the product is already being used in dozens of food products, medicines and what not. It is also used alternatively to sugar. AND a big advantage is that it does not cause plague or decay of teeth like sugar causes ... just sharing what I've discovered so far ..

My experience is the opposite. I often drag the vapor only to my mouth to do rings or just make the air look smokey for fun. It doesn't feel like nicotine is absorbed at all.
