from my personal experience,
most e-liquid changes into a darker color and become less viscous, as the tank gets lesser, so is the flavour of the of the liquid. It doesn't taste as good as when I just filled the tank full.

for a darker color, 2 explanations could possibly be the answer:
1. Liquid has steeped due to the repeated heating and cooling of the liquid contained in the atomiser. Especially RBAs.
2. Caramelized "residue" backflow into the tank, I get this alot with the taifun GT and fogger due to it's design, the location where the wick/cotton is being placed horizontally therefore promotes backflow. On the other hand, kayfun actually controls the backflow very well as it is designed in such a way whereby liquid only flows in and hardly flows out, there is little or no "exchange" involved.

There may be more explanations for this but this is what i've personally experienced.

Tank low = flavor lesser, liquid darker
Tank low = Sometimes liquid tastes better, sometimes worse.

I guess it all depends on the characteristics of the ingredients used in the mixing of the e-liquid

care to share what liquid did you use? I'm curious and would like to try a liquid that actually turns lighter as it gets "steeped", I haven't get that before.

Yeah, i noticed that tank low=darker liquid as well.
PS The picture won't help much and I have no idea what liquid is it since it was a gift from a friend. Tastes like green apple accordingly to my friends who have vaped it.

"USA mix" is an Aussie term for liquids containing nic.

Jeffydoo's probably right about the darkening towards the end of the tank being "caramelised backflow". This tends to happen with BCCs (Kanger T3S/MT3S), but not with my genesis RBAs, so I'd agree that it has something to do with the liquid coming into contact with the hot coil and staying in/circulating back into the tank.

Oh,

so you are referring to the bottle of liquid being "lighter" in the container(bottle) rather than in the Atomiser(after consumption)

I could only conclude that water molcues have "entered" the concentrated liquid, thus making it lighter.

Each time you open and close the bottle with a lower content(not as full), more air(carrying water vapor) goes into the bottle and it may MIX with the existing liquid. I've not noticed that becuase I usually finish a bottle(10ml) in less than a week.

Maybe I should take note,

May previous post was directed to liquid in an atomiser rather than being kept in a bottle.

That's odd ...

Nicotine turns brownish when exposed to air, like when opening the bottle to draw juice for refilling your atty.
And whatever i mixed together always turns darker, never had anything turn lighter on me yet, but I'm still scratching the surface with my sixtyodd flavours, so I might be in for some surprises yet...
