OK, I have done the research on the safety and handling of e-liquid(On forums like ECF and Google searches) But I am a bit of a worry wart. So I figured I would ask my questions so I get direct answers from everyone out there.I am new to vaping so my questions may seem basic and I am sorry for that. I have only been using at the most 24mg pre-mixed nic juice so far, and when I get some on me I very quickly wash my hands. I also spray cleaner and wipe up any spills on my stone counter top that I use as surface for filling cartos and such. I also check my floor for any drops or spills at all and wipe them up as well. I have been thinking of using some nitrile gloves when filling just to facilitate cleanup and avoid me having to wash my hands every time a drop gets on me. I have a small 14lb Dachshund so I really try to keep things clean as I would hate myself if he ever got sick or (God Forbid) worse. I am just worried I or even worse my little buddy is gonna get sick by the juice. So my questions are am I doing this correctly? Should I be so worried or am I overly cautious? Are there any tips you can give me on filling safety based on what I am doing so far? How dangerous is it for my dog? I am sorry if these questions are basic and silly I just really want to be safe.

It's always a good idea to clean up any spilled liquid. I also have a small dog, and a cat. The dog is not at all interested in the liquids. At first the cat was curious, but I let her smell the bottles, and she doesn't like them, so she leaves them alone. That said, I'd still keep the liquids where the dog can't get to them.

gettinga drop or two of 24mg nic on your skin wont do anything much at all. even a big spill on your hands if washed off quickly would likely only make you nauseous. But, your little buddy is much more suseptible to nicotine poisoning. A drop shouldnt hurt him but more than this would quickly lead to danger. I have a pup too and would hate myself forever if I ever hurt him so I take certain precautions. I dont wear gloves when using regular strength nic solution though I use nitrile gloves when I DIY with the stronger stuff. I also do all filling and DIY in my basement where we dont allow the dog to go, just in case. Safety is always a good thing, and the safer the better. You should be fine just keep it away from him

First six months: freaked out if I got a drop on my finger.
First year: wiped it off on my jeans if I spilled half a bottle on my hand.
Year two+: lick it off, probably, and weep for the wasted juice.

Seriously, it's food flavoring, a glycol that's used in hand cream, and the nicotine? Think 21 mgs in a patch that's glued to your arm all day. Pure nicotine is horribly dangerous, no one should fool with it hardly. Gloves for that stuff. This is very, very far from pure nicotine.

It's the newness of it all that's scary. I chain vape and fill cartos while driving, etc. - all sort of things that have led to spills on skin. Nothing whatsoever happens. And I'm not a reckless kid or a macho napalm-drinker, I'm a 61 year old, rather anxious and toxin-shy grandmother. (If anyone thinks I'm reckless I'll be somewhat flattered.)

I keep everything far from the dog, though. Wouldn't stick a patch on her, either.
