Hey vets,
I'm a brand new vaper and I have an aspire premium kit, which includes a VV+ CF battery, a 1.6 ohm coil and a nautilus BVC mini clearomizer. I bought a couple e-liquids from vaporfi, which I'm not to sure about. All the flavors I have tried either tasted chemically or I think a little burnt. I dont think it is my e cig because my friend used the same one I did and he could taste the flavor. I have heard about vapers tongue, but I thought it was for people who have switched from smoking and people that use the same liquid a lot. I don't know why, but I can't seem to taste the flavor.

It's a little hard to say; taste is so subjective. Nothing appears inherently wrong with Vaporfi as a juice company but I've never tried them and that doesn't mean you'll like their juice.

It's unclear if your friend used your actual tank or just your ecig, and if he did use your tank whether or not he was using the same coil. Any coil that uses cotton is next to worthless once it gets burnt. Sometimes they can be used for a little bit longer, but if you accidentally burnt your coil right off the bat then nothing will taste good. Make sure you are priming your coils by dripping some juice directly into it before installing (when new) and letting the coil sit in the tank to absorb juice for a minimum of five real minutes before vaping. Starting off with extra low power also helps to warm up a new coil.

Beyond that, get some other juice and make sure it's not the company that doesn't agree with you. Everyone has their own preferences and what someone else might absolutely love, you may hate.

The Nautilus Mini continues to be a very good tank and you should get good flavor from it. Make sure you're priming your coils, replacing coil heads when the cotton gets burnt and/or the coil is shot (or otherwise when it tastes bad and doesn't work as expected), and find some new juice if those things don't help. Also make sure you're not putting too much power through that coil. 1.6ohms is best enjoyed roughly between 6-22W, or 3.2-6V, with the higher end potentially pushing it.

Vaper's Tongue can strike at any time, but most often affects people who've just started vaping and whose tastebuds are healing from tobacco abuse. It took me about 3 months before I could taste anything beyond menthol, mints and cinnamon. Even now, some of the subtle flavors in a lot of juice are lost on me. I chalk it up to 40 years of smoking.
