Hi there!

I've read a bunch of posts on this forum and I am overwhelmed. There are too many suppliers and brands and choices in general.

My first purchase was the greensmoke e-cigarette. I actually enjoyed the size and ease of the product...but the price was too much and the taste was horrible, so I returned my starter kit and back to the forums.

I read that the greensmoke is just the e9 mini with their brand.
But I also read that e-cig.com the supplier of e9 cigarettes is not reliable and customers have been complaining.

So it comes to this, which e-cig would you recommend that is mimics a real cigarette (size and color) that lets you use your own e-juice.

I'm thinking of getting the Belmont Milds from Vapables.com since those are the current ANALOG smokes I use.

Help a n00b out, I need to get some fresh air back into my poor lungs.

I recommend the M401! Size is perfect... it's a bit longer than an analog but not by much and is the same diameter roughly. There is white/tan or black available. The white has the orange LED and from a few feet away looks very convincing as a real cig. The black has a blue LED. I have one of each :)

The empty carts are easy to fill with any ejuice of your chosing.

I am a brand new vaper as of last week and had no troubles at all with it!

I say look at the KR808D-1 type e-cig, great for the first time user, and great for on the go use. I've been using them for a while now and love them.
Go to your local smoke shop and ask for one, or ask them to order you one through their supplier. Then you'll have a place to go to to buy what you need ;)

The m401, m402 and m403 are very close to an analog. The m403 is the size of a king analog, the m402 is equal in size to a 100 and the m401 is not as long as a 120 analog. The battery capacity is 100, 150 and 200mah for the m403, m402 and m401 respectively. That means the longest battery will last twice as long as the smallest.

However if you go up in size just a bit, about 9.6mm diameter vs 8.4mm (m401) you can go to e-cigs that last longer because they have larger cartridges and better battery life. The Joye 510, DSE901 and KR808D-1 all are this size and about the same length.

I have the m401 which I love for the flavor but hate for the small cartridges and the DSE901 which tastes almost as good and has much better cartridge life. More places have the DSE901 (or clones) than the m401 and they are less expensive. Around $40 or less for a 2 atomizer 2 battery + cartridges + charger starter vs. $50 or more for a similar m401 setup.

I'm a n00b too, and I totally agree w/ Bsoplinger's suggestion. You'll be happy with any of those units and you will be set for the long run. Accessories readily available and upgradable. Most of the tips, techniques, and instructional videos will usually feature one of these units.

Kpod, why do you want to mimic an analogue, even to mimic your old brand. They tend to raise more eybrows w/ non-smokers than, for example, a platinum or black unit that looks like a pen (stealthy!). imho, forget nostagia and make a clean break from analogs...you're certainly not going to fool yourself into thinking that it's an analog. Just a suggestion from one n00b to another.

Welcome the ecf family Kpod!

That's a valid point. But to elaborate, smoking for me is partly social and mostly psychological. Being able to blend in with the other smokers at my office would be easy, and weening off the brand I currently use might be easier throught a electronic clone of it. Eventually I do see myself moving into something with less nicotine and more flavour but for the initial choice I think this would be a good start

So the brand mentioned above, does anyone know of a reliable source in Canada for shipping. Or perhaps somethig local in Vancouver if anyone knows of one.

Everyone who uses the mini ecigs has their fav. I like my manual, and auto m401s w/ the XL carts I get from Litecigusa. My sweety loves her 402s w/ XL carts but also uses a manual batt 401 at home. She keeps one of each going and walks around w/ the 402 cause it's lighter. I also like the Smart PCC or the 401s.

Many like the 510s better.

Many like the higher powered larger units.

And, something new is always popping up.

I don't think you can go wrong w/ any of the name brand stuff. If it is not thought of in a good light around this forum... be careful!!!

Consider the Joye 306A (in white) from Happy Vaper in Ontario. It is the same size as the M403 (i.e., king size cigarette) that bsoplinger mentioned ... and it is fully compatible with the Joye 510 and eGO, models I suspect you will want to move up to later on. [My concern about such models that look like a cigarette is their limitations and potential frustrations, e.g., very frequent battery recharging and small cartridges. Please don't let any such frustrations turn you off to e-cigarettes in general.]

What I actually recommend, is the eGO (also available from that Canadian supplier): kinda like a mini-cigar, available in any of four colors, including white. It has a much longer lasting battery (650 mAh to the 306A's 90 mAh), is only a few dollars more in price, and doesn't require you to purchase (and tote around) extra batteries or a PCC.

Or, if you liked the convenience of GreenSmoke cartomizers, consider the shorty version of the Kr8 model from Vapor4Life, about the same size as a 100s cigarette (and available in any of myriad colors). Length for length, the Kr8 battery is the most powerful of the skinny e-cig batts and Kr8 cartomizers taste much better than the E9 model (e.g., GreenSmoke), especially the new lines of cartos. Using Doggsbody's Carto Cap technique, they are very easy to fill with e-liquid.

NOTE: Any of the good models that folks in this thread are recommending can taste like anything you want at whatever nicotine level (including none) you want. Flavor and nicotine lie in the e-liquid that you put into these e-cigs. You might like Happy Vaper's "Do More, Eh?" (du Maurier) or "Dvn Hill" (Dunhill), although no e-liquid named after a cigarette brand tastes just like that cigarette.

Explore ECF's Canadian Members forum for information about other Canadian suppliers and e-liquid flavors. [I've been mentioning Happy Vaper simply because they are the only Canadian supplier, with which I am very familiar.]

This is just my opinion, but....

When I first started a year ago (Then quit vaping due to frustrations) I had started with the NJOY, which looked just like a cigarette. At that time I wanted it to taste and look just like a cig and had many misconceptions about how e-cigs work.

I must say I dislike the cig-alikes altogether. I still own the NJOY, blu cigs, and the DSE-901, ALL automatics, ALL have horrible battery life, ALL over-heated all the time. After I got so sick and tired of them failing on me and their horrible batteries they just soaked up the dust for about a year while I continued smoking regular cigs. I couldn't enjoy them not nearly as much as I enjoy the one I currently use (eGo) - But to each their own. At least with the eGo I find it more enjoyable than a regular cigarette.

Just got my M403 from litecigusa.net.
So far so good. The battery is about the same size as a regular cig, with the cartridge its about the size of a kingsize.
I bought the white starter kit, came with 5 MB (marbaro methinks) cartridges.

Initial flavor was pretty good, I've had analog MB before and they are pretty close to the actual thing.
I also picked up Belmot Milds from Vapables.com
Have not tried it yet, today I'm at work and the true test happens.

i have the dse 901...and i LOVE IT. you can buy replacement parts for it everywhere (online) and it doesnt cost a lot.

while the battery life isnt 8 hours like i would like, it is easy to charge an extra battery and carry it with me. if you do that i would suggest getting a case for it.

the only thing i dont like about it is that when im at a bar or at work people always ask "what the hell is that?" and then i have to explain everything to them. which is the reason im going to get the rn 4081.

if you dont want a ecig with a blue light at the end of it, get the rn 4081. ive read great things about it... and yes, as far as i know it is the same thing you can get at the mall only about 1/3 the price...

although i will be getting a different ecig, i will always stand behind my 901. i love it and i've had no major problems with it that i didnt cause myself (who knew leaving a battery in my pocket while washing my jeans would .... it up... jk, but yeah, i did do that a couple of times...).
