One of my biggest gripes (my only gripe really) with standard ego batteries is that they are not regulated. As the battery drains the power output decreases so your vape thins. I dont really want a big apv - but provari has appealed because of the regulated output.

Anyway - I was checking out discountvapers tonight and noticed this comment under the E2 apollo twist battery:
The voltage output will not decrease until battery need charging.

Is the battery really regulated?

That would be huge deal to me!

The E2 Twist battery has a buck-boost converter in it that will output whatever voltage is selected, in a regulated manner. It should perform very similarly to an eGo Twist. They are both variable voltage devices, and necessarily regulate the output voltage.

FYI, some regular eGos have regulated outputs, such as joyetech ones. They regulate the voltage at around 3.3-3.4v.

This. The reason your vape feels thin is because of the low output voltage. I don't understand why a Joye ego doesn't output 3.7v but i'm sure they have their reason.

Well, I understand your point but my vape isnt thin until about 1/2 way through the battery -it does not matter if it is an ego or a 3.7 kgo . both start faultering about half way through the battery time. For example - my 1100 mah kgo gives me about 10 hours life - but only 5 at a nice thick vapor. Same with the 650 mah ego - I get about 5 hours on it and only 2-2.5 of it is nice and thick. The vapor diminishes as the battery is drained. That has nothing to do with output voltage.

so lucent - you said the regular ego twist (for example) has regulated output also. does this mean if I start at 3.4 (or 3.7 whatever) volts I will get that for the battery life charge? understanding of course that using the device at higher output will drain the battery faster.

Honestly - I am NOT an electrical person. I am miming the electrical speak :)

basically - I just want a device that will output the same density of vapor from beginning to end of the battery life. (barring of course dirty or damaged atty)
I understand using the device at higher voltages will drain the battery faster than using the lower voltages. Im not really concerned about how long the battery remains charged -just what I get for my trouble.

and - I must not have the right regular ego batteries for this. I have joytech c batteries and they definately do not have good regulated voltage :(

Hmm. I've had many different eGo models, and the Joyetech eGo batteries that I have are very consistent from start to finish of each charge cycle. They regulate them at 3.3v solely for that purpose. I'm not sure if they make any unregulated models. I wouldn't be surprised if you got a knockoff, though.

Most other eGos around are unregulated, and come off of the charger at 4.2v, hang around 3.7 for a good portion of the time, but drop all the way to about 3.2v before they shut off for low battery. There will be a noticeable drop in performance with those, and they are best when topped off after 1/2 or less depleted.

I don't have the E2 Twist, but the specs that I have seen for it state that it's basically the same as the eGo Twist. I certainly can't vouch for that though.

I can vouch for the Joyetech eGo Twist, though. I've got two 650mah and an 1100mah. They all keep their voltage well regulated, in my experience. There may be a very slight sag in voltage as they approach needing a charge (this would be normal for such devices), but it's not noticeable to me, if so. I use mine at 4-4.2v most of the time. I would recommend these, if you want the eGo form factor.

That said, I know that there is at least one other company making copies of those, and I've got no experience with them. Hopefully they would perform as well.

Otherwise, several APVs out there may outperform the eGo twist. I'm happy with the Twists, though, so I won't be looking into those anytime soon.

i will tell you there is no drop that i have ever noticed with both batteries they run strong all the way till they die. the only thing about the e2 is it will not work to well with lr where the joyetech will. for a cheap genuine joy go to here Vapors Choice, Ecigarettes & Parts they are the real deal and not a knock off. the only thing bad is they sale out of them so quick and you have to wait till they are back in stock

I have a E2 Apollo regular (non VV) battery...and don't really notice any drop in performance as the battery is used. I like it a lot...it feels good in the hand, is well made and vapes great. Lasts really good, too. I've been thinking if I should ever want another VV (which is not terribly likely as I hardly use my eGo Twist or my L-Rider or my kGo VV as it is) I'd like to get the E2 Apollo VV. Solid unit...and you can't beat the aesthetics!

Check out ecigsupply. They sell genuine Joyetech products, including Twists. Ecigsupply is actually where I ordered my very first starter kit just over 2 years ago and it was genuine. The dinky 510 batts lasted me almost 9 months(After about 7.5-8 months the battery life took a quite noticeable nose dive though) and the atomizers that came with my kit were great, one lasted about a month and a half before I lost it, and the other one lasted almost 3 months, even though I had been using it solely for about a month and a half since I had lost my other one with nothing but regular cleaning. As a newb it was great, I had a completely hassle free kit and it worked beautifully from day 1. If I had bought a crummy knock off elsewhere who knows if I would even be vaping to this day. Plus I ordered the kit at 6pm on a Friday night and it was at my doorstep at 2:30pm monday afternoon when I got home. Now that's some great shipping. California to the east coast too, no less and I have also ordered other parts and juice from them since then and they have always been equally as fast at shipping out. Two  way up from me!
