Not sure if I should be asking this in the rebuildables forum or here, but I had a strange thing happen while using a KF clone on my mini. (9 or 10 wraps of 32 gauge Kanthol around a 1/16th" drill bit = 1.3 oHms).

I started getting intermittent e2 readings (with the atomizer not firing at all). At one point, when it was firing, I check the oHms readout, and saw it go rise from the high 2s into the low 3s -- it was literally rising while I was watching the screen.

I dialed down the voltage, and it's been working fine ever since, and there's been no problem at all with any other atomizers. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of thing?

Sounds like you were hitting the amp limit. What voltage were you running when getting the errors? You should be good with that resistance up to around 4.5v.. Also, which battery are you using?

I would also check your coil, and make sure there are no shorts.. ;) Do you have an adjustable center pin on your clone? Did your resistance stabilize when turning the voltage down?

Thanks for the reply...I had been vaping at around 4.5 volts, and the Provari/KF clone were going fine until I got the errors. I'm using AWs (18490 1100 mah).

It occurred to me later that there might be a contact problem with the connector, and so I did lower the KF screw a half-turn. Come to think of it, there were no E2s or misfires after that.

Hopefully this will amount to nothing more than a one-off glitch, but it was very strange watching the Ao reading rise so quickly.

Good deal... :) I was thinking it may have had something to do with the clone's center pin. Many are not adjustable, and will simply loosen the block on the deck, or will turn it and short-out if an adjustment is attempted.

EDIT: Here is a vid showing the adjustable pin on The Russian 91%.. Applying a dab of Noalox on the adjustable pin's threads does help with performance issues. :)

The video is helpful, a real KF lite (or a 91%) is one of the next RBAs i'd llke to get.

Cheers!
