I wanted to ask this question in the vendor forum - but I can't post there yet:

Does anybody know what release the E2 cartomizers from madvapes are? I receiced my first ones today, and they do not have the 3 filler rings mentioned in all the other threads - just 2; and they look kind of oily - lubricated with some kind of filler. Not complaining, i just would like to find out...
According to what I have read in other forums, I believe they are R3 cartomizers...Who can fill me in?

The R4's have the soft mouth piece ... then one thin rubber ring ... then below that is the ring with two holes for filling.

I prefer to pull out the ring with the holes and put it back in upside down... things seem to wick better that way.
BTW thats the only piece I use. I chuck the thin ring and use a drip tip for a mouthpiece.

I don't have a middle ring either. Just the soft mouth piece and the bottom ring right on top the cup.

Are you sure your down to the cup. The last ring is the one with two holes for filling. Then a thin ring above that you pull out to expose the holes.

1- mouthpiece
2- thin ring to covering fill holes.
3- thick ring with two tiny holes in it for filling. You can pull this out, but its in there much harder than the others.
If you do pull it out, its hard to get back in unless you do it upside down.

It's my understanding that on the bottom of this ring on the 4v you can see two slots at 90 degrees (at each end of the coil) to the fill holes. I think these slots are supposed to help improve wicking. The other versions are not supposed to have these slots.

Still do not know the version....definitely only 2 rings..
Anyhow, removed the 2 rings - did a dry burn and flushed with plenty of water. There was fluid in (primer?), it was smoking like hell during the dry burn.. Then I filled with the drip method down the side and reinstalled the 2 rings.
Vaping itself is great and consistent, no bad taste at all and wicking great.
I am a bit dissappointed about the taste, no aprovement compart to the old style cartomizers.

Yep, I'm sure there are only two. The soft mouth piece and then the the ring with the tiny holes, that's all there is. I pulled the them both out because it's easier to fill without using those tiny holes. It's not too hard to get the 2nd ring back in the correct way if you use a pencil eraser to push it back down.
