The most hard hit would be BP if ecigs become main stream. Also billions of dollars in revenue lost from treating sick smokers.
Oplholik is truly spot on- The suppression of e-cig availability is based on business and profitability. The Fed gets 85% of every cig $. Health care stands to lose big money to e-cigs. I thought big pharma was concerned about $ loss from their smoking cessation products--wrong it's: 75% less activity in radiology, surgical, pharma, O2 tanks, mobility devices, etc. due to less emphysemic, cancerous, and coronary patients needing same due to smoking. There is more $ in addiction to smoked tobacco than other forms of nicotine. I just can't wrap my mind around the fact that the gov't--not just here, but all westernized countries wants me smoking so they can cash in.
Back to ebay--I started this biz because 2 of my kids saw how i got off cigs with this tech, and I'm involved enough with the scum in DC to let people know people are mad.
Now the ebay thing: Powerhouse has the concept but he source of their $ is a lot more disgusting. I have been selling on ebay maybe 2 years. It was hobby stuff at first, I raise and sell some exotic tropical fish, and e-bay was a great place to sell them off to at least individual who were spending their money for an expensive fish to keep. I've been selling e-cig items on ebay since maybe March. They are OUT OF CONTROL corrupt. I am astonished every day that the media will never utter a peep about what Amazon or ebay do in like Powerhouse said.
Ebay if you go and search their main site for e-cigarette you will get usually 5K items--now I sell protanks, evods, and about 7 other OUTRIGHT e-cig products on eBay, cuz my kids love to pack bubble envelopes I guess. As a powerseller--I get a good discount off of the criminal fees the 2 companies which are the same company charge(paypal -ebay= same corp) This is where it gets funny and gross. I make them enough money where they don't want to alienate me too much--but I DON'T CARE about their policy. Started in March 15 listings they shut down 3, sent a warning. -week later same--yada 5 warnings they suspended my account for 30 days--manwhile STG I get a certificate as a super seller 2 weeks in--now here is the corruption--I got high enough up the managemnt ladder to get a human in US with a brain and probably his own parking spot corporate--he tells me they don't have the "resources" to check the listings for e-cigs. Please dude. There is spider search logarithms at your fingertips to tell you how many 24 year old hispanic women shopped the site last month in 2 seconds. The way they police the site for e-cigs is the "rat-squad" . In other words, the only way--(frequent)--that you get your listing pulled is when another member (anonymously) turns you in. (ya think its the guy selling the same stuff outta his van? I do.)
Ebay encourages their sellers to cannibalize their own marketplace. This means the buyer only gets to shop from scumbags largely. I'm sorry but this whole thing is a handbasket going way fast
they most preyed upon are me-the ones with the seal and 100% next to my user name---it gets better, and this is where I need to get the media involved. I haven't had a listing pulled that is long-standing in months. If I list a new item It gets pulled, almost immediately they send me a email---the reason is--if they pull my listing--i've BEEN PAID--and they have to REFUND all the fees they charged me to save face with the big greed money machine I'll attach a protank listing that they would have to pay me back nearly $1000.00 in fees. I have another item that is a tank that gets bought for $25-I have sold 300 of--that's $1500 refund of fees. I want to set up the media--and get the listing turned in with cameras rolling--they will not do it and the press would have a field day. but maybe they don't mess with amazon or ebay. I am really frustrated with the criminality and fraud I am sorry for the tome, but it is all true--and we have kids coming up in this mess..
They can't stop this stuff.
